A little humor to end your week and start the weekend. This is a postcard of my favorite tombstone in Boot Hill, the cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona, the town where Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Virgil and Morgan Earp faced the Clantons and the McLaurys in the gunfight at the OK Corral.
We visited when I was a little girl and I’ve remembered this bit of doggerel all these years. I really enjoyed going back not long ago and seeing it again.

That is very cute – I recently heard a story about a fellow named “Odd” (no lie). Anyway, he asked his wife to promise that when he died she wouldn’t put his name on his tombstone because he always hated his name. They raised a family together and one day, of course, he died. His wife kept her promise and on his tombstone only put the date of his birth and the date of his death. To this day when others visit the cemetery and notice his gravestone, they remark, “Isn’t that odd?” hope that makes you laugh out loud.
This was a great post card! Although I was shocked when Megan sent me one of TeePee. Who knew!?
I’ve got tons of them from when it was a dude ranch and Grandpa just sent me some more today for some reason. If you want some, let me know.
I can’t remember well enough, but I think I have been there when I was a small boy.
