We can never have enough of nature. We must be refreshed by the sight of inexhaustible vigor, vast and titanic features, the sea-coast with its wrecks, the wilderness with its living and its decaying trees, and thunder-cloud, and the rain.
–Henry David Thoreau
Pessimism – Every dark cloud has a silver lining, but lightning kills hundreds of people each year who are trying to find it.
–Larry Kersten
The sky is gray and white and cloudy
Sometimes I think it’s hanging down on me…
–Simon & Garfunkel, “Cloudy”
Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.
–Lord Byron
I think I like the pessimistic Kersten comment best, which is unusual for me since I’m pretty much an eternal optimist!
I like both the humor and the twist,
Looks like a storm is coming, run to the basement lol
Seriously, with the heat in here I could smell the rain thanks to the pics.
And I agree with Somer, Kersten comment is the best!
Unfortunately, I got in at the end of the awesome clouds. I was driving home as fast as I could, rushed in to grab my iPad with the fantastic camera and stood in the street taking pictures as fast as I could. Even though I missed some of it, it was still amazing. But it wasn’t much of a storm–just “sound and fury signifying nothing.”
