Salt truck scatters load
Snow silently blankets earth
I sip calming tea

  1. These days I can’t sip tea without thinking of you, Janet. 😉

  2. Jan Morrill says:

I love the peacefulness in this haiku, Janet. Very nice!

  3. That tea looks really good, would be perfect with the cake I’m baking.

  4. Calm and silent and soothing – very nice.

    • Thanks, Sharon. That’s the effect I was after. Do you have any snow out there? Cleveland got dumped on several times since I left but we have only a little bit in Naperville. At least there’s enough to look wintery.

      • We had an inch or two of snow Friday night – the nice fluffy kind, not much of a problem now that it’s stopped falling. (Apparently traffic was snarled and the airport was running very late due to poor visibility during the storm.) Next week is supposed to stay above freezing though, so I expect it will melt in a day or so.

  5. Wonderfully said and so true.
