Yesterday I posted my Friday Fictioneers story, a mere 100 words of flash fiction.  Today, I pare that down even further to eleven words and a mere seventeen syllables.  Tomorrow will be the photo challenge, so there may be no words at all.
What happens on Saturday?
Steam from fragrant tea
Rises from porcelain cup
Unwinding my soul

    Great Haiku and great photo!

Beautiful – really. Photo and haiku. I’m off for an Earl Grey. Thank you for sharing.

    I love that 🙂

I just finished my cuppa, but I drank it while working. Your photo and haiku make me want a do-over, in a nicer cup, curled up on the sofa in my conservatory, watching the birds flit around the garden.

    • I had iced tea today because it’s too hot and I didn’t have enough time, either, to sit down and relax while drinking. Maybe tomorrow for both of us? Or on the weekend? I found this cup (and saucer and also a salad plate) at an antique store and added it to my small collection. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have time for a more relaxed cuppa tonight.

  6. Fairly perfect Haiku.
    Great job!

Janet – I followed the links from your other post and arrived here – and two thumbs up on your awesome poem – tea is so dear to my heart and the words – and picture (with the steammmm) were a complete joy tonight. also the green china is gorgeous. ❤

    • I’m always on the look for just the right teacup and found that one at a local antique store, along with saucer and one salad plate. It makes a lovely set. Steam and warmth are quite nice to contemplate right now, aren’t they? 🙂

      • yprior1 says:

and one salad plate? I have seen many cups and saucers – and know some folks that collect the hodge podeg ones (with some worth a lot of $) but how fun to have the extra plate…
oh – and it is hard to catch steam in a photo – I have tried and well it was hard for me – so I really liked that detail here

      • I don’t know if it’s actually a salad plate, but it’s that size, just that much larger than the saucer, so that they all three stack beautifully. Just right for having a snack with tea. 🙂

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
