Our house is a very, very, very fine house.

In the last six months, I’ve been attempting to get our house packed, repaired and prettied so that it can be put on the market and we can finally get moved and be in the same place again. What have I learned?

It’s very difficult to separate memories and emotions from “things”, making it hard to get rid of “things.”

It would have made more sense to do repairs and improvements over the years than waiting until we wanted to sell the house.

There are indeed people who are craftsmen and take pride in what they do.  Recommendations are invaluable for finding these craftsmen.

When push comes to shove, I have enough of my mom’s skills at doing things around the house to accomplish a lot more than I ever thought I could.

Having do get everything done on my own and by myself is both easier and infinitely more difficult than if we were both here.

I thought I’d share a few pictures of what the house looks like for today’s open house. Our house was the first enamel porcelain house in the world.
