Leaving Yellowstone

After watching Old Faithful erupt, we were ready to head back to the cabin.  It had been a long day–great, but long.  The highway took us past another part of Yellowstone Lake (this time on my side of the van!) The lake covers 136 square miles and has 110 miles of coastline. Those dry statistics aside, it’s simply beautiful, and the approaching sunset made it even more so. At one picture stop, we able to rescue a family whose van battery needed a jump. Out came the trusty jumper cables that I always carry in our van and their van was good to go…at least if they didn’t stop until they could get a new battery or get it charged! It’s always good to be able to help someone.

Good-bye to Yellowstone and thanks for the adventure. We’re on the way to Cody. We arrived back at the cabin at 1:30 am, 20 1/2 hours after we left. A whirlwind trip, but well worth it! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Wonderful trip. So much land and wildlife as well as homes gone in such a beautiful place here in the US. How is the weather in Cody my son is in JH

    • When we were there a few weeks ago, it was hot. I imagine it will be cooling off soon, though. Jackson Hole is beautiful but very commercial and expensive. Is he working there?

He is an Artist first and Paints houses to pay for his supplies

        🙂

I told him to charge more for his ART and become rich and Famous

        🙂

I used to truck cross country know his area well though ID and WY corner has changed even in 32 yrs.

      • Being an artist and trying to live by it can be difficult. Our younger daughter is in art school right now but despite the challenges, she is an artist and that’s what she has to do. All the best to your son. He’s certainly in a beautiful place.

    • Thanks for coming on the trip, or at least that part of it. It’s an amazing place and next time I hope we’ll be able to stay in Cody and visit for several days.
