This photo is an example of the part luck plays in taking pictures. We were walking around the lake one evening, a photography walk, meaning Bill does martial arts exercises while I lallygag around, taking shot after shot before walking another few feet and stopping again. I was busily taking photos of milkweed plants and didn’t realize until I looked through them later that I’d caught a visitor in this one. Fortuitous, since this week’s theme is macro. 🙂
The photo was taken with my iPad 3 and then cropped.
Small bug traverses
Milkweed’s alien landscape
Camera spies him
Alien indeed–but it invites me to gaze at it. Happy Phoneography Monday.
Same to you, Sally.

Amazing – that’s got to be several times life size!
Thankfully it wasn’t that big but if it had been, I would have seen it, no matter the light!!

Wow, really impressive!!
Thanks, Angeline. I was so surprised to find him (or her) in the photo. The light during our walk was such that I didn’t really see it. But what a fun discovery!

It does look like his own world. Strange to the human eye.
It didn’t look quite so odd in the original photo as you could see more of the milkweed pods.
janet
I like the odd look. Unique is always best. 🙂

The milkweed itself does look like an alien landscape in macro 😀 The bug actually looks more familiar to me than the milkweed 😛 Interesting shot 🙂
I thought the “landscape” definitely looked alien, especially the curvy parts on the left.
janet
That’s exactly what I thought XD
This is so cool!
Thanks! I’m glad you think so.
janet
It was !!!! (is)
Love those surprises, great capture 🙂
Carol, the surprises can be so much fun. Thanks for stopping by.
janet
Sometimes we don’t know until after the shots been taken, what we’ve actually captured. Cool!
