Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers

Welcome to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers.  The layers you see below were discovered in the print lab at PAFA, America’s first art school, located in Philadelphia.  I have no idea what the machine’s use is, possibly ventilation, but there were a great many machines that appeared to be some sort of medieval instruments of torture.  Print labs may be the last bastion of these sorts of machines, at least as far as art is concerned.  No computers and you can still find Gutenberg-style type.  (I sorted quite a lot!)

I’ll be on the road and at a writers’ conference this weekend (leaving shortly), so if I don’t come by and see your photo right away, you’ll know why.  I hope to get to as many as possible, as it’s such an excellent way to learn.  In the meantime, enjoy your Friday and the weekend and happy photography!
