Rockin’ in Sedona

It’s Friday and time for the Weekly Photo Challenge.  But we’ll be in Carefree, Arizona (isn’t that a great name?) at an outdoor art show and wine tasting when the theme is posted, so my entry will have to wait.  In the meantime (because I freely admit I’m a bit obsessive about posting right away in the morning), here are a few more photos of the beautiful red rock country of Sedona for you to enjoy.

On the left is Bell Rock.  You can also get an idea of the type of vegetation found at this altitude.

The iconic Bell Rock once more.

Chapel of the Holy Cross.

Sighh … them religions get into everything! :-/
Photos nice but, Janet! Hope the wine-tasting’s GREAT! As for the art … ~ ~ ~ 😉

    • We didn’t do any wine-tasting today, Margaret, but we did have a delicious lunch while sitting in the sun and saw some wonderful art. It’s such a luxury to be enjoying the warmth while back home it’s cold, cold, cold.

Your pics remind me of all the ones I took at the Grand Canyon (North Rim) and Zion Nat’l Park in Utah (as well as others in Utah) last August when we went with friends. The scenery was awesome. So much to see, and not enough time to see all. Such beautiful rock formations. I’ve only shone a few of mine on my blog, but working on others with little haiku poems, etc.

    • Throughout my life I’ve been blessed to be able to visit much of the Southwest and see the marvels God created here. I’d love to go back again to all of them.

      • Joyce says:

Yes, me too. Some I want to see again, and then I want to see what I’ve never seen before. There is so much beauty to God’s country.

Great photos. Hope you enjoy what sounds like a wonderful weekend!

    • Hi, Angeline. We just spent the day in Sedona, but I’m here in Arizona for almost two weeks, although that’s too quickly coming to an end. Still have the weekend and a couple of days next week, though, to enjoy.

Beautiful photos, Janet–spectacular scenery, so different from what we see on the East Coast.

  5. I am sooooooo enjoying these photos, Janet. I love it out that way! I miss it so much. My heart misses it.

Did you go inside the church? I remember thinking how large it looks outside but it is quite small in. I lived in Tucson for a few years and grew to love the vegetation. Continue to have fun!

Chapel of the Holy Cross is so majestic! Magnifient photos! I haven’t been Sedona, but your photos remind me the Arches in Utah.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
