A peek at Chihuly–Day and Night

I promised I’d show you some more Chihuly glass and here’s the first bit, with many more to come.  Every piece looked wonderful as we walked through in the afternoon and then, as night fell and the sculpture were illuminated, we were enchanted all over again and marveled anew at each piece.  Impossible to decide which we liked better.  The lush beauty of his work stands in stark contrast to the sharp, spare beauty of the desert and its prickly plants.  But they play off one another so well, each enhancing the other.  Thankfully, there’s no need to choose.  Simply choose to enjoy.

  5. I have loved Chihuly’s work. Where is this at?

  6. Gorgeous, Janet. I agree with the group. Great photographs of great works of art! You captured their spirit. The sculptures look so alive. They mesh so well with the living plants. The bottom “icicle” photograph is amazing. T.

    Been waiting for this. MORE!!!!!!

  8. We saw a Chuhuly exhibit at the Botanical Garden in N Y. a few summers ago. It was beautiful; I’ve been a fan of his since my daughter, a Rhode Islander, told me that Dale Chihuly was a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. (RISD). He does;t do his own work any more, but has a group of artists that complete the works he designed.

  9. WHOOOWEEE ! These are so beautiful ! Thanks for sharing Janet!

Came to find your FF entry and saw the Chihuly photos. There was an exhibit of his works in Orlando for awhile. You can’t mistake his work with any other…just amazing. Thanks for sharing.

I’m a huge Chihuly fan and photographed his installation in Dallas a few years ago. Meant to get back at night but never did. Enjoyed looking at your shots.

    • Glad you liked them. I have some more coming out tomorrow morning if you’d like to stop by and see. I’ll be posting more periodically, but there are just too many to do all at once! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
