When I see the word “potluck”, I think of those wonderful meals at church where everyone brings their specialty to share and we almost all eat too much. My dad used to hate these and would only eat when my mom brought, but he’s mellowed over the years and now enjoys them, too. Potlucks are usually heavy on entrees (meat and cheese entrees in particular) and desserts and light on lots of healthy alternatives. This week’s “Sunday Stills” challenge “Potluck” will have no discernible calories and will be full of healthy, delicious photos.
To have a challenge that allows me to choose what I want is great, right? It is, but it’s also overwhelming when I look at all the photos I have and want to share. But I’ll put my nose to the grindstone and pick out a couple that I think you might enjoy on this finally-spring-like Sunday in the Chicago area. To find all the entries for the week’s “Sunday Stills: Potluck”, click on the words. Then follow the links to lots of great photos.
Well, you know perfectly well you’ll get me every time with pic.s from Provençal … and beautiful they are.
Did you get my reply to yours? – it hasn’t gone into your spam mail again …?
No, I got it and very much appreciate it. We were out all yesterday afternoon and evening and I’m just up and getting ready for church now. Thanks! I look forward to hearing what your friend thinks, too.
Lovely Janet. A nice appetiser for our next trip. 🙂 Especially the first one.
Grrrrrr! Wish I were going there again. But the Dijon area is supposed to be outstanding, too. Glad I could whet your appetite.

Ah, Provence – a few years since I have travelled there! Some nice doors here…
It’s a lovely area, isn’t it. And yes, many nice doors.

Sure is 🙂
How fun that your dad would only eat what your momma brought – and glad he mellowed – but sometimes I do not easily enjoy the elections – and I try not to worry about the kitchens they came from – but have had to walk by a many of sines over the years (lol)
anyhow, loved your stun day stills – especially the first one – the purple really spoke to me. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the mini-trip to Provence. As for potlucks, they can be good but sometimes not so good. 🙂

okay -auto correct messed up my sentence (and I was rushing I Guess). Meant to say “selections” and noted that I have to pass on having many pot luck “SIDE” dishes over the years…. ha ha
Auto-correct can be SO annoying!!
Beautiful captures, Janet. 🙂
Thanks very much.

I love doorways, Janet. Great shots! Great purples.
I saw some great doorways in San Francisco last fall, too. They always attract my attention. As for purples, there are so many beautiful purples and pinks in Provence (a bit of unintended alliteration there) and other colors as well.

Reminds me of the lavender that grows there…
Mmmmmmmm, I love the smell of lavender. I was able to go to where they grow lavender and the smell was divine.
Me too! Have you ever had lavender chocolate? Divine as well…
I’ve had a taste of lavender dark chocolate and yum!! Of course, dark chocolate and almost anything is good. Lavender honey is also quite wonderful.
Exquisite! Just makes me want to bask in the sun & soak in these peaceful surroundings…in short living in its true sense 🙂
That was what I was trying to convey! Thanks for letting me know the photos did that.

So much beauty! I see stories in each picture. Perfect for inspiring my muse.
Glad to be of help. 🙂

Lovely photos and I love the pink hue to them. It really adds to the atmosphere. 😀
the pictures take me to a happy place
I’m glad. They were taken when we were in happy places.

Gorgeous pictures – Provence is so very photogenic!
It really is. You could spend hours in each place taking photos but you’d never get to all the other great places. Thanks for stopping, Meg.
