After an infinitely long (two week) break while our hostess-with-the-mostess went on a well-deserved vacation (hope you had a great time, Sally), the Phoneography and Non-SLR Digital Devices Photo Challenge (aka Phoneography Challenge) is back. As we’ve entered a new month, our first-Monday theme is “Nature.”
Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf,
and take an insect view of its plain.
~Henry David Thoreau
Never say there is nothing beautiful in the world anymore. There is always something to make you wonder
in the shape of a tree, the trembling of a leaf.
~Albert Schweitzer
I believe that a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars.
~Walt Whitman
A leaf fluttered through the window this morning, as if supported by the rays of the sun,
a bird settled on the fire escape, joy in the task of coffee, joy accompanied me as I walked.
~Anais Nin
Both are delicately lovely, especially the ginkgo. Happy Photo Challenge.

The second photo is a work of art. Beautiful!
No, it’s a work of Janet; Art’s my dad. 🙂 Truly, he is. But thanks, Angeline. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s entries again. Enjoy your day.

🙂
I just visited your blog and don’t find a comment box anywhere. Did you remove it or are the WP gremlins at work?
The first one is ginkgo leaf, right? I had no clue that they grow on you place. I always try to raise one, but they dislike our wet climate. Have a super monday and a great cinco de mayo.
It is a ginkgo. I didn’t know they grew here, either. In fact, I didn’t even know what they looked like until someone posted about them and then I saw the leaves around here. Enjoy your Monday and Cinco de Mayo, too.

Lovely photos. 😀
Too funny, Raewyn. You’re my next stop..
LOL. 😀
Beautiful post, Janet! Love the quotes. Inspiring indeed!
Thanks, Amy. I love finding appropriate quotes and it’s so easy with the internet. One of the sites I’ve used has changed something so that you can’t copy from the site, so I have to go back and forth and put the quote in myself. How rude! 🙂

Loving those pics Janet, and great quotes too! 😀
Happy Monday, Amanda. Thanks for visiting. I’m glad you enjoyed the post. I loo forward to seeing yours, too.

The quotes you found for those beautiful images are perfect. I can’t decide which shot I like best, so I’ll just love them both!
You’re allowed to love them both, Meghan. I can’t choose between them either. Looking up quotes is so easy with the internet and so much fun, although there are some pretty weird ones, too.

Wonderful choices – especially like the Schweitzer quote!
Thanks, Tina. I always appreciate you stopping by. I imagine you can use that quote at some point, too. 🙂

These are interesting – I love the quotes you have found to go with them and the way you have observed the small details of life so accurately.
Beautiful photos and lovely quotes.

Love the second photo especially. And the quotes!
Thanks for dropping in, Steve. I’m so pleased you liked them.
