Phoneography and Non-SLR Digital Devices Photo Challenge: Macro…Spring

It’s the second Monday, which means the Phoneography theme is “Macro.”  Although I hate to be predictable, with spring in the air and the joy of being outdoors foremost in my mind, I have to go with a nature theme.  Every day I go outside, I see something new and beautiful, something growing and changing, a good reminder of what my life should be.

I must have flowers, always, and always.
~Claude Monet

The rain to the wind said,
‘You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged–though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.
~Robert Frost

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.

Beautiful capture of the tulip center. Very nice.

  2. While one and two are favorites, it’s something about the angle of the tulip that draws me. Also enjoyed the two quotes. Happy Photo Challenge,

Amazing captures, Janet! You are rising the bar for macro 🙂

The lovely yellow flower has captured my heart. So soft and delicate and filled with purpose.

The grass is definitely my favorite!

Love your photos. I’m always drawn to flowers and pretty much anything else nature. Tulips are my favorite — there’s something about only seeing them (at least here in Ohio) in my yard in the spring. They seem more magical and beautiful that way. I think my fave photo here though is the dew on the grass. It’s fascinating the way you’ve captured the dew droplets.

    • We lived in Ohio (east side of Cleveland) before moving to the Chicago suburbs. I like tulips a lot but I like them best with other plants or flowers so that there’s not just a bunch of tulips standing all on their own. The droplets on the leaves are rain drops on the leaves of day lilies (although the flowers aren’t up yet.) I was thrilled that the photo turned out so well from the phone. Have to love the iPhone and iPad for picture-taking capabilities alone. Thanks for stopping and commenting. Hope you’re having a good spring.

    Lovely, especially the drops!

  9. Oh, Janet, these are beautiful macro shots. I love them all. And you selected some excellent quotes to accentuate! 🙂

  10. Indira says:

Beautiful photographs and very lovely quotes.

  11. Janet, these are beautiful photographs! Beauty is beauty, & no two flowers or nature shots are ever the same either. I have to say I agree with Monet – I must have flowers too! 😀

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
