I’ve been watching spring make her way towards summer day by day. Some flowers and their perfume have come and gone; green becomes more predominant color; baby geese begin to lose their cuteness and look more like adults. But the nights are still cool and the mornings dew-bedecked if I walk early enough.
Today’s challenge is “Macro.”
“Is the spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”…
“It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…”
~Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
“It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
~Mark Twain
“Most of the dandelions had changed from suns into moons.”
~Vladimir Nabokov
All photos were edited in Picasa 3. Except for the obvious additions such as frame and copyright, the only large edit is in the last photo, in which I used Lomo-ish.
Spring’s arrival and waning has indeed inspired you. Happy Photo Challenge.
Thanks, Sally, and the same to you.

Janet, your pics are lovely, and I so enjoyed the quotes. I loved “The Secret Garden” as a child. Thanks for reminding about it. 🙂
My pleasure. There are so many wonderful children’s books (although there’s so much garbage these days as well) and books like “The Secret Garden” are timeless for readers of any age.

Lovely pictures Janet (especially the dandelion) and quotes. I also like your quite poetic intro to your post. 🙂
Thanks very much all around, Amanda. 🙂
I love these photos. 😀
I’m glad, Raewyn. I always hope my photos touch those who view them.

all amazing…the egg is a great find and well photographed!
Thanks very much, Carol. One of the joys and bonuses of walking in the park, as opposed to running or biking, is that I have a chance to spot things that make good photos.

Beautiful photos, Janet! I always think robins eggs are the perfect shade of blue. 🙂
I agree, Lisa. It’s a lovely color. Thanks for stopping by.

I’m continually amazed by the quality of the iPhone camera. Or phone cameras. But it takes someone with an eye to elevate the quality. Like you. I love the robin’s egg!
Awwww, thanks, Emilio. As Tolkien said, “Praise from the praiseworthy.” I love being able to carry my camera along so easily when I walk.

It’s all new to me. I have to figure out how to make calls on my new phone first!
We got our first smartphones in December. I have to admit they’re nice but I make a concerted effort not to always be on my phone. But I love the camera!!
The beautiful blue egg shell reminds us of the movement of seasons… soon we will be celebrating summer and all the bounty of early spring growth. Lovely captures.
Thanks, Dawn. I never know when I go to the park what I’ll see that’s beautiful and since I walk (fast but still walking) rather than jog or bike, I can see much more. Off in a few minutes for this morning’s walk of discovery and exercise.
