Each week, the WP Photo Challenge has a new theme. This week it’s “Contrasts.” I know you’ll see some stunning photos if you click on the link and access the hundreds of entries.
Most mornings I begin my day with a walk through a nearby park. Every day, I’m struck by the beauty of the morning light highlighting a certain plant or part of a leaf, creating a contrast between that leaf and the what’s around it. Here’s an example of what has me reaching for my camera each time I walk and what brings joy to my heart.
Other contrasts may be found here.
so beautiful
Thanks so much. 🙂

Gorgeous, gorgeous shot.
Thanks very much!
janet
so beautiful – you have managed to capture the texture as well – the photo ‘feels’ fuzzy:)
I noticed the fuzz when I looked at the photo on my iPad rather than my phone. A nice by-product. 🙂
janet
YES. Gorgeous, Janet. The yellow-green really pops against the blue-black background! T. (The leaf would make a fabulous ball gown pattern!)
You could go as a dryad. 🙂
I love it when you guys follow these challenges. Everyone’s creativity blossoms… Great shot!
Thanks, Stephane. The challenges are fun and a great chance to easily see other great photos.

Here’s my “Contrast” for the Weekly Photo Challenge. http://wp.me/p3xgac-ko
Very nice. And an interesting place to hide your watermark. 🙂
🙂 I was so happy to find Picasa 3 let me move my signature around and adjust for size as well as font. Just a little additional fun. Thanks, Bob.

Beautiful with the light coming through the leaf. Nice shot.
I appreciate that, Cardinal.

I know how you feel. I feel the same way. Great photo. 😀
Thanks and have a great weekend.

Janet, this is a bit WOW from me … so delicate and bold on the same time. Excellent.
Sorry, big WOW!!!!
I knew what you meant. 🙂
Thanks, Janet .. sometimes my finger are quicker than my thoughts. *smile
I know the feeling. And you always notice it once you’ve hit “Reply” or “Post” or “Send.”
Thanks! Great to see you.
janet
The same, Janet …. wish you a lovely weekend.
A backlit leaf is a wonderful sight. They simply glow! Good capture Janet 🙂
I keep taking more and more photos of them. 🙂
I know THAT feeling 😉
Very fascinating, Janet… 🙂
Thanks, Drake. Enjoy your weekend.
The detail is incredible. Excellent take on the theme!
Thanks and thanks for visiting, Angelia.

So beautiful!!! This bright green. Great for the theme.
Have a great day.
I’m pleased you liked it. Enjoy your weekend.

This reminds me of when we were kids and would entertain ourselves by holding a flashlight against your fingers or ears. Yes, we were simple kids! 🙂
We were, too, Emilio. Good days.
janet
Love, love this photo..it would be wonderful framed!!
Wow, thanks so much.
janet
As I’m sure you’ve seen, I’m definitely drawn to high-contrast photos, be it light, color, shape, or otherwise. I think that your gorgeous shot here checks all the boxes! I love it- What a brilliant moment of sunshine you’ve captured.
Thanks so much, Hannah. From you, I especially value that compliment. Perhaps it looks good enough to eat. 🙂
janet
Fantastic shot, Janet!
Thanks, Lisa. From a photographer such as yourself, it’s especially appreciated.
janet
Its such a beautiful shot! Loved the way you’ve captured the light on the leaf….
Preeti, every morning there are so many beautiful shots with light shining through leaves and flowers. I try to capture too many, but it’s so much fun!
janet
A colorful playfulness in this one. I think the colors are a great blend. There is a whimsy
to it because of the light shining from behind. It gives it a feeling of floating.
You did an excellent job of creating more than – CONTRAST- than was in the original.
I wish I could see that one too. Good job …!!!!
I didn’t really do much editing at all, Izzy (do you use Izzy or Issy???). I cropped it and enhanced the colors just slightly, so it’s quite close to the original.
janet
Actually … it doesn’t matter. One of my bloggers who is from England started to use Issy. But, I’ve been called Is, Iz, Issy, Izzy, and some things that can’t be mentioned. LOLOL
You can use what ever you’d like.
My hubby always says, “You can call me anything just don’t forget to call me for dinner.”
Thanks for asking ❤
I’ll certainly not call you anything unprintable, no matter how it’s spelled. As for the dinner comment, I’ve heard that before and feel a bit that way myself. 🙂
Wow…
🙂 Thanks!
janet
WOW!! That’s the word I heard me telling.
And that’s a word that brings pleasure to a photographer’s heart. Thanks, Kitty.
janet
Very arresting! Right down to the tiny hairs on the profile. Well done, Janet.
Glad you liked it, Sandra. There’s so much beauty in nature. I finally had to take all the photos off my iPhone because I ran out of space. 🙂 But now I’m all set for the trip!!
