Oddball or eyeball? My photo this week might make you wonder. Do you know what the “eyeball” is? This delicious photo was taken at a Blackhawks’ hockey game, when we were fortunate enough to be invited to a box where food was provided. The food was a great perk, but I was there for the game!! I hope you enjoy the photo as much as I enjoyed the game.
Sorry about the inadvertent publishing of this post on Tuesday. I had it set up and had set (I thought) the date to publish and somehow it didn’t take. Sigh.
Isn’t that some sort of lychee thing? All fruit – the blood orange is beautiful!! Cool photo;)
Lychee is correct. 🙂

Actually that oddball fruit is a Rambutan, commonly grown in tropical S.E.Asia. Rambut means hair in the Malay language 🙂 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rambutan
Thanks for the correction and something new to learn!

You’re welcome 🙂 BTW, I have a post on IKEA’s ad which has Rambutans on the top left. That, to me, was a loud indication that it was made in Singapore or Malaysia, though it’s a European company, a great ad that went “viral”. http://temasekgarden.com/2014/09/07/ikea-ad-made-in-singapore/
I’ve seen these on the breakfast buffet in China! Great shot.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Did you eat one and if so, were they tasty?

I did try one and found it kind of…..meh. Some Asian fruits are out of this world and some I don’t really care for. Honestly, Janet, the mango I had in Taiwan was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
Yikes!
That could be an eyeball, it looks less than appealing.
🙂 Especially after I mentioned the eyeball comparison.

Now that you’ve mentioned it, it does look like an eyeball, iris & all. We ate them so often but never looked at them artistically. 😀 Too bad I don’t have such long thick eyelashes.
Me, too!!
looks yummy … and you nailed the eyeball look 🙂
I didn’t try that particular piece but I had quite a lot of the rest of the fruit!

It does look like an eyeball…..kind of freaky. Thanks for playing 🙂
Always fun, Cee.
