Flowering France

Even in autumn, there is flowering beauty in the cool forest. The first of these photos is actually a tentacle mushroom found in my s-i-l’s yard, but the rest are flowers of the region.

Take a look at the flower in Wales that Tish photographed and you’ll see why I was astounded to see her photo just a few short days ago!  Don’t they look like twins?

  1. Tish Farrell says:

Yes, that is the same flower, Janet. It is called Indian or Himalayan Balsam (I’ve just looked it up). The colouring of your version is the more usual, and it is an introduced ‘weed’ in waterways. It can shoot its seeds for great distances so you can see how easily it might spread. Interesting that we approached it from the same angle 🙂

  2. I particularly love that last flower.

    • Although it’s not really flower season, there are some real beauties still around. I’ll have another round at some point and more mushrooms/fungi. The latter are so photogenic!

  3. Wow Janet!!! So much beauty!!! I feel you are having a great time. That brings me happiness in itself. Huge hugs and smiles.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
