Not long ago we had a light frost, but last night the frost was much heavier.  The majority of colors in the park these days are shades of brown or grey, but this morning, they were edged with silver, a festive look more appropriate for December.  However, if you look, there are still touches of color hanging in there, sometimes literally, just right for this week’s Phoneography Challenge: Nature.

“But frost, like the crystallized dreams of autumn, began to coat the clearing with its sugar glaze.”

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.”

  5. Oooooh, I love these, especially the first three. Especially the first one, it reeks of frost!! Enjoy your descent into winter there. Ours here in Austin is so much less dramatic. (PS Idea!!! You could link your frost image into the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge, Descent)

    • Hi, Jann. I’m happy you liked the photos. I didn’t do the Photo Challenge this week as they posted it late and we were already on the road. But I think I’ll link a different frost photo for tomorrow, since I need a post and we just got back in town. Thanks for the idea! Hope you had a great weekend.

  6. The first one does look sugar coated. WIth just a tinge of winter icing on sky top
Lovely contrasts with the colors against the fading into bleak backgrounds
