“Converge” is the theme this week. This bring to mind paths that beckon, buildings and architecture, angles and curves. But I’m going in a very different direction this week. One of the definitions of converge is : “to move toward one point and join together : to come together and meet.” We saw an epic convergence at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo recently, a place where unusual partners came together and met.

oh I love this shot! It’s so cute! and the eye is immediately drawn toward the little girl’s hand and the gorilla’s look; cute, and at the same time, I feel some kind of nostalgia… spectacular shot!
Thanks! On the other side of the walkway was an adult gorilla who got angry at people banging on the glass and suddenly rushed the window, launching himself into it with a huge bang! He then walked around looking very angry, while this little guy looked so cute with the kids.

Oh wow! Janet – now this is so original and so beautifully captured! It had us hold our breath for a second … what a moment in time. Love your interpretation!

I love your take on this prompt. 😀
That photo op grabbed my heart, Raewyn, so I’m glad you liked it.

What a great shot Janet. You know to me that looks like the ape is the one on the outside looking in and I like that symbolism a lot.
He seemed so friendly and interested in the children that it was really cool. I like your interpretation, too.
It was a lovely ahot
Janet, Wow. What a great moment. I like the refection upon reflections.
I know you’re not, it looks like you are in the cage with the gorilla.
:–) Thank goodness I wasn’t! I was looking through a window around the corner.
Great shot, Janet. Brought back memories of my daughters having close encounters with apes at the Memphis (TN) Zoo. While we are only about an 1 1/2 hours from Omaha, I’ve never been to the zoo. Will have to take my grandkids when they visit next summer.
You have to go, Chuck. It’s an excellent zoo and child-friendly as well. Downtown Omaha has lots of shops and restaurants.

We’ve been to Old Market a few times but when we moved to Iowa twenty years ago, our children were teens and not into zoos. Back then it was the malls we went to in Omaha. Now that I have older preschool grandchildren, I’m thinking it will be a trip we’ll make next summer. It looks like a great place for photo ops!
Wonderful entry!
Thanks, Cee.
