  1. Tish Farrell says:

And my soul has gathered an awful lot of dust. Time to spring clean it. πŸ™‚

  2. yprior1 says:

ahhhh – so nice to be reminded of this as I have to go through books this month!

    • I need to cull books, too, but it’s one of the most difficult things I try to do.

      • yprior1 says:

well it helps me if I have the right thing to do with the books – and yesterday I gave three wonderful ones to a teen and his mom – and they treasured each one – now a few more dozen to find homes for –

      • That’s very true. I don’t throw them out, that’s for sure. Sometimes I take them to Half Price Books to see if I can recoup a bit of money or I donate them to one of several thrift stores. When we moved, I gave 15 boxes of home school books to a woman who ran a home school group and she made good use of them with her group and elsewhere.

      • yprior1 says:

        that’s a lot of books! whew –
and cool that you have a place to take them to for resale –
sometimes I post a few online – and even I sold one a while back for 30 bucks – just a child’s poetry book that went up in value – but usually I do not have time to list – and then ship – or it just is not worth it –

      • I did that for awhile with home school books, but you’re right, it’s a lot of time and effort. We had to move in a week, so I had to take care of those books quickly, but I wanted to pass them on to people who would use them. and thankfully I could.

      • yprior1 says:

what a blessing that had to be – and especially with hs – the costs can really add up and so I bet folks truly valued the resources…

      • She was rather overwhelmed. What they didn’t use was going to be donated to a big sale of home school items and the proceeds used to help home school groups. So I was happy, too.

      • yprior1 says:

win-win-win – you lighten the load – some get freebies – the group makes some moola – and wait – then some who buy the goodies get a good deal – so add more one win to that! ha!

  3. Let’s see, my house doesn’t have any books in the laundry. Or the garage. Other than that, it has more soul than it has room for.

  4. suej says:

I have been culling books recently, a task I hate but it. Has to be done…but wherever I live, it will still have books and soul aplenty! πŸ˜€

  5. There are groups on the internet where you can find homes for your ex loved and cherished books. Bookmooch is a global swap site and you accumulate points for every book you swap which gives you credit to request books from others. Also “Book crossing” where you leave a book in a prominent public place with info so that you can track its potential progress in the wilds of public space. Lots of fun and not nearly as much of a pain ad selling books. And it feels good to think someone else will benefit!

  6. Love the quote by the way. May I use it in my weekly proverbial thursday quotes on my blog? Credit and links to you, of course.
