Weekly Photo Challenge: Wall…chalk art

A second Friday the thirteenth, which mean another lucky day for me.  🙂  As I’m not superstitious, I enjoy the day and as thirteen was my number for many years of competitive softball, it has good memories and connotations.  Of course, the other good thing today is the Friday part, meaning it’s time for another round of “Let’s play Weekly Photo Challenge.”  What will the theme be this week?  And the answer is…..”Wall.”  Wow!  This could be a difficult one, but I’m expecting lots of interesting entries.  I’m off to see what I might conjure up (and conjuring may be what’s needed!)

As luck would have it, this is what I first came across–three photos of a “wall” decorated five years ago by our younger daughter (now with one more year of art school) and a friend.  It was so much fun watching the expressions of commuters coming off the train and other people walking past.

  1. I like it, the OMG bunny makes it to a real eyecatcher… no idea why :o) we rather stay at home today, I’m able to make even an ordinary friday to a doomsday, who knows what will happen today :o)

  2. They did really nice work. You daughter, no doubt, has a promising future.

  3. Ese' s Voice says:

These are really beautiful, Janet! Creativity in its best…and her talent surely shines through!
    Have a lovely weekend!

  4. Nato says:

I have always been amazed at chalk drawings! People are so incredibly talented:)

  5. Sandra says:

Fantastic work Janet, your daughter is very talented. I love studying pavement art or graffiti.

  6. Paula says:

These are good enough to be made permanent.. chalk is gone with the first shower. I have no doubt she is a great student 🙂

    • That’s both the joy and the sadness of chalk art, Paula: joy if it doesn’t turn out well, sadness if it does and then is washed away. 🙂 Perhaps desert climates are the best place for chalk art.

  7. Fun photos Janet. Your daughter is really talented.

  8. 2e0mca says:

So creative, Janet! Must have been great fun!

    • We were amazed at how good it was and how large! Sidewalk chalk, whether used for a masterpiece or for something I’d be able to draw, is great, creative entertainment and low cat as well.

  13. Suzanne says:

Great pavement art – your daughter is very talented.

  14. A difficult task to create a mural. She did a really good job. I hope she’s enjoying her art school. She has talent. I liked your entry because it had sentiment attached, Janet. 😊

  15. These are cool, and yet . . . ephemeral. Nice that you captured them, Janet.
