The Phoneography theme this week is “Black and White.” I always enjoy finding natural shots for this challenge. This is my entry for this third week of March, a month when spring has apparently deigned to not only visit but to stay. I’m loving every minute of it! This shot, however, may evoke winter once again. Or perhaps your mind will imagine a warm, still night with only the noise of insects and perhaps some frogs if you’re near a pond.

Beautiful!
Nicely captured night sky with a full moon that is surrounded by a sea of floating clouds. It’s like the moon is whispering sweet somethings about the coming of Spring, and its rainy days to encourage new life. (Can you tell how much Spring is in my thoughts.) Happy Photo Challenge.
I completely understand the thoughts of spring, Sally. They loom large in my mind as well. Have a wonderful week.

Really great shot, Janet! I like the soft edges of the clouds around the moon.
I wish I could take credit for that, Cathy, but the iPhone’s biggest failing as far as I’m concerned, is its inability to truly capture a night shot. The sky was much more crisp than my photo shows and the moon was clear and distinct. I’m glad it turned out attractively, of course, but it’s much softer than what I actually saw.

Janet, your photo brought a smile to my face, before I even know why. I love the photo. With the clouds around the moon, it looks magical. Thanks.
My pleasure, Helen. I’m always glad when people enjoy my photos or writing and thanks for letting me know that you did. Have a great Monday.

Fantastic shot! I got a nice one of the moon caught in trees this month…
Yes I see a warm still night.
Winter never arrived here
Wonderful moon shot, Janet!
Thanks, Lisa. It was one of those instances of looking up and then grabbing my phone.
Wonderful photo, Janet. I love those kinds of clouds at night. It does evoke a warm night by a pond and I can almost hear the frogs.
It’s still cool enough here at night for me not to quite be able to hear the frogs and feel the warmth. But the days are getting warmer and it won’t be long.
Great image, Janet! I really like this one. I haven’t tried iPhone to capture moon, yet.
Amy, night shots with an iPhone can be tricky. This wasn’t nearly as sharp as the real view was, but it works.

Great shot. I’m totally impressed with it.
Awww, thanks, Raewyn. Night shots with the iPhone as sometimes quite frustrating. Glad you liked this one.

Hi Janet. I love the moodiness and mystery of this shot. Beautiful.
Thanks, Patti. Glad you liked it. I think there’s something magical about a moon-and-clouds shot.
