and what our parents, and their parents, and so on back throughout time, have passed on to us, for which I am eternally grateful (though sometimes grateful with clenched teeth).
BTW – I had to visit a periodontist after having a visit from Pericles.
Astute quote. We passed an old cemetery on a Mother’s Day hike. Reminded, hurricanes, earthquakes, and time turns monuments into dust, but what lives on in people’s memories – as fragile as human brains are – is still more permanent and important.
Lovely post
very potent quote there. and I just heard this one on bytes.
“Some people hate funerals. I find them comforting. They hit the pause button on life and remind us that it has an end. Every eulogy reminds me to deepen my dash, that place on the tombstone between our birth and our death.”
yeah – and when I read your quote today – it shows how less can be more sometimes – the ol’ “brevity mode” has much value sometimes, doesn’t it? Hope you are have a nice month of May so far… ❤
I followed a link from Cee’s the other day, and thought, heck, I follow this blog already – better make time to come back. I’m glad I did, I enjoyed my visit.
Beautiful !
I’m happy you liked it, Jodi.

So far, so good. Hope yours has been the same, but it’s hard to believe the month is half over! Where does the time go?
I know, I know – I was just thinking that about this month as well – some fly by and this one is “zooming” for sure.
Beautiful!!

I’m glad you enjoyed it, too, Tina. Gives one pause for thought about what each of us is doing with his/her life, doesn’t it?
