Huntington Gardens orchids

After a few days of relaxing while my daughter worked, we decided to visit Huntington Botanical Gardens in south Pasadena. Purchased in 1903 by railroad magnate H.E. Huntington, this former citrus ranch is now filled with spectacular gardens. In the small part we explored in our few hours, one of my favorite areas was the humid conservatory.  Here are a few of the photos I took there while trying to protect my camera from the periodic mistings.

We are having a great week-end Janet. IT RAINED A LITTLE. This has been the driest winter in 100 years. Normally our summers are definitely on the damp side but this has been disasterly dry with serious forest fires. Come on Rain!!

      • So happy you had some rain. Missouri and Illinois would be happy to share if we could.

  9. I love orchids, but your photos are really beyond special, they are so spectacular.

    • Charlie, your comment made my morning when I found it in the spam folder. Not sure why it was there, but periodically, real comments get shunted there. At any rate, happy Sunday and thanks.
