Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Black and White…Lines of love in circles and angles

(I’m obviously confused!  Today is only the second Monday of the month, meaning I should be posting macro photos.  Sigh.  Yesterday was that sort of day.  I’ll go away and try again.  Here’s the link to what we’re really doing, “Macro.”)

I’m coming around again to the joys of black and white photography.  When I began taking photos, the kind that had to be taken to the camera store to be developed and then came out on small pieces of paper in black and white, there were no options.  To be able now to choose black or white, edit before sharing, not to pay to develop unless you want an actual print, is a photographer’s paradise.  And now I’m rediscovering monochrome.  What goes around comes around.

Here are several shots from my June/July trip to California.

  1. Good morning, Janet!
Fantastic shots. So true what one can do with photography and all techniques available. You surely make the best of it.
    Have a beautiful week.
    Cheers.

  2. Your macro shot is made more inviting by the focus on the patterns with the conversion to monochrome. With the right combination black and white can be such a powerful statement. Often even more than technicolor. As you I find it a constant challenge and joy. Happy Photo Challenge.

  4. Love your shots. I do know what you mean by it now being a photographer’s paradise. So much more fun to see our images instantly, rather than waiting a week for the prints to come back. Not to mention saving the shoe boxes

    • True, but my laptop is getting crowded and I have so many discs, that it’s hard to keep track of all of them! Not only can we see them instantly, we can edit them without losing the shot! Amazing things that we take for granted.
