“Grid” is this week’s theme for the Weekly Photo Challenge. Human aren’t the only one who produce grids. Here’s a natural grid from one of nature’s greatest grid builders.

Beautiful!
Thanks, M.E. Just decided to go with something a bit different. 🙂

Love it! Great detail, especially the dew. Mary
The dew makes the shot.
Absolutely! But then again, the web is amazing to.
Oh what a great shot to capture that web!!
Thanks very much. The dew/rain really helped. When there’s moisture, the webs just pop out. Otherwise, they’re so difficult to see.

Absolutely beautiful Janet!
Thanks so much! I love going to the park when it’s been wet because the webs are so easy to see. The downside is I’m constantly stopping to take photos. 🙂
If that’s the most negative part of the visit, then you must have an amazing time out there!
I do!
A Work of art..Very nice!
Much appreciated. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

So perfect for the challenge. 🙂
Spiders are the perfect grid-makers. 🙂 Glad you liked it.

Great take on the challenge, Janet!
Thanks very much, Cathy. I had to be contrary. 🙂
Wonderful interpretation, Janet!
I’m happy you enjoyed it, Svetlana.
That’s good. I would never thought of it
My devious mind at work. 🙂

it’s not the first time you show that picture and I LOVE it everytime I see it! Delicate grid indeed…
Although I’ve featured several different spider web shots, this one is a new, never-been-posted photo that I shot just last week. But I’m glad you love it anyway. 🙂
janet
really?!? well, it’s another gorgeous one you’ve found! I always enjoy those pics of yours, specially because -in spite of their beauty- I would never get close enough for a shot! ha!
Not all the webs have spiders in them when I see them, but a telephoto lens helps. 🙂
Very pretty! I hate to be a copycat but I just took a spider web photo too. Of course, I haven’t uploaded it onto my computer yet so it may not have turned out.
No problem, Trisha. I hope it turns out well.
janet
fabulous
Wow! Thanks.

Great take on the prompt Janet. Have a lovely weekend.
Glad you like it, Sandra. You have a great one, too, hopefully without rain and with cruising.
Wow brilliant grid.
Spiders are amazing, aren’t they?
janet
As long as they are outside, yes.
I hear you.
janet
LOVE!! And the water drops lining those silky strands — gorgeous.
Beautiful, Janet! We often think same… 😀
🙂
A grid, adorned with dew drops. Beautiful!
Thanks, Marion. I don’t know how many shots I have like this and the next one always looks even better. 🙂 So much beauty.

I wonder where the homeowner is. Probably off resting after all that grid building. Having a drink of dew as he/she awaits dinner.
Thankfully not at home. Probably between meals and having that drink you mention. 🙂
janet
The spider did an excellent job of creating that web.
Great photo, Janet. Perfect grid for the challenge.
Izzy 😎
It always amazes me how quickly webs can go up and they really are beautiful. I just try to keep at a distance from the homeowner. 🙂
Good idea … !!! ~~~ : – )
Aren’t spider’s webs wonderful! 🙂
They are and when bedecked with moisture, they’re stunning. I constantly take “just one more” photo. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by and for the comment.
janet
Awesome photo!
Thanks very much, Christine. I appreciate your visit and comment. 🙂
janet
You’re welcome. I’m glad you stopped by my blog, too. Thanks.
Terrific entry for the grid challenge. Just perfect!
Thanks so much, Ruth. I appreciate that.

Well it is a standout
Stunning capture of the web, Janet!
That picture was just calling my name. 🙂
Wonderful picture, Janet. It’s one that I’ve wanted to capture with the plethora of webs in my yard for the last few months (the subject of my “creepy” post on which you commented). While I was not able to get a natural dew shot, I cheated and sprayed one with a fine mist, getting a similar result.
Great idea, Chuck. It’s amazing how many webs I spot in the park when there’s moisture on them. Otherwise, they’re invisible. And when the light hits them with the drops on them, it’s a gorgeous sight.

My husband and I were just examining the different styles between two spiders working side by side in our yard this morning. What artists they are. We discussed how some people are so afraid of them when they are such tiny creatures. We think they are beautiful and fascinating, fun to watch but neither of us want them to crawl on us by surprise for fear of a bite. I think it’s kind of funny that it’s so tiny yet so many people are scared to death of them. They’re just busy weaving their grid. Going about their business. Love your pictures. I’m so glad I found your site.
Nice to meet you, Lisa. I’m with you and your husband: they do beautiful work, but I’d rather not have them crawling on me. 🙂 The moisture really highlights the beauty and also makes it easier to avoid walking into a web. When we go horseback riding in Wyoming in the summer, the first person always hits the webs, especially if s/he is on a tall horse. Not the most exciting experience. 🙂

Excellent choice for grid!
Kind greetings,
Marianne
Thanks so much, Marianne, and thanks for taking the time to visit and comment.
