Not only do most people not have doors like this, not everyone has a door guardian like the one belonging to this Basel family.  Perhaps the bush in front of him used to be as large as the one on the opposite side and he’s been munching it down for lo, these many years.  Who knows?

I like both the door and it’s guardian!

  2. Dan Antion says:

The door is really nice, I like that style. The guard is impressive 🙂

  3. Nice door and surrounding greenery. As for the guardian, well, something a little less ferocious would be better at least for me. 🙂

  4. Gorgeous door! Looks like the guardian is taking a snack break 🙂

  5. Norm 2.0 says:

I like the herringbone pattern in the way the door slats are oriented, and hey the guardian will get you noticed by the neighbors, that’s for sure 😀

  6. jan says:

It looks like Mr. Rhino wants to come in!

  7. Lovely photo. Love the guard rhino.

What’s around and in front of the doors are as interesting as the doors themselves. 🙂

  9. Love the door but love the portal guard even more. I want one!

  10. MythRider says:

Knock, knock. Can Khalid come out to play?

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
