And the Weekly Photo Challenge theme for the first week in November is…
(drum roll, please)…
“Ornate.”
An outdoor faucet…
A village water source…
An everyday home in French wine country with everyday Burgundian roof tiles. Hey, it’s someone’s everyday home…
we have an outdoor faucet too … it’s a frog ( but it was still there as we bought the house LOL)
But still very cool!!
janet
These my idea of the perfect outdoor faucets. Something as important as water calls for wonderful dispensers like these. Like everything else – the French do everything in style!
Agreed. I love these touches.
janet
I like the lion fountain.
Ω
And it was right along a small road. How cool!
janet
TaDa! Indeed.I have an image of a Lion’s head roaring water ,too. It must be a tradition from where???
Carol, we saw other spigots like this with other designs, but perhaps from the NE France area?
janet
Those are pretty cool.
Thanks, Dan. 🙂 Still have to view this week’s doors as well as now all the ornate photos. Heeeeeeelp! 🙂
janet
I understand. This is why I only do the doors.
Dan, I do challenges on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday and than blog every day of the week. I love it, but it can get a bit busy. 🙂
You’re my hero 🙂
Ha, ha. I’m honored, Dan. Been blogging every day for about 3 3/4 years now.
I will take that “everyday” home in a heartbeat!
Lovely shots, Janet ❤
Thanks. I admit the home’s lovely, but you’d best have lots of money, not only for help around the house, but any repairs! 🙂
janet
For me, all you needed was the faucet. I LOVE that faucet. 🙂
I love one like this, too, Judy.
janet
Oh I recognise that roof! 🙂
I’m sure you do, Sandra, at least the general style.
janet
Great finds. Love your taps (faucets)
Thanks, Raewyn. That it was an outdoor faucet makes it all the more fun, as you’d expect more ornate things inside.
janet
I am just about to post my ornate roses – they were amazing yesterday
I’ll look forward to seeing them. I almost went with nature, but then came across these and that was it. 🙂
I notice your name is inscribed on the faucet stonework. A sideline business obviously. Congrats!
Thanks, MB. I’m a woman of many parts. 😉
janet
I like the roof tiles. I would not call that an everyday home, I would call it a castle.
Laura, it would be a castle to me, but someone (or a family) lives here full time, so to them, it would be an everyday home. 🙂
janet
Beautiful. I do so love the idea and things that are ordinary, but are far from it. Sigh. For a society that believes things can be more than what they must be.
Before we moved, we lived for 28 years in a house built in the early 1930’s. There were so many lovely, loving details that now you would pay many dollars extra to get. It’s hard enough to get things done right and well these days, it seems like. Where’s the pride in craftsmanship that apparently was around then every day?
janet
Too much of a throw away, buy new too soon culture, I’m afraid
Nice pics Jan, did you pop over to see Sandra while you were in France? 🙂
She and Neville were in the vicinity, so we drove down and spent a day on their boat. Quite a lot of fun!
i so love those faucets Janet!
Me, too, KZ. Wish I had one like it. Hope your mom’s doing much better.
janet
This is a very beautiful entry Janet.
Thanks so much, Maria. I appreciate your visit and comment. Enjoy your weekend.
janet
You have a wonderful weekend as well 🙂
Wonderful collection of ornate objects. I love those roof tiles.
Jean, those tiles are all over older buildings in that part of France and such a joy to see.
janet
I love the frame around the first picture Janet! It is so cool! Great entry!
Thanks, Nicole. Just got back from a wonderful, long day. Hope your weekend’s going well, too.
janet
I have to say – those Burgundian roof tiles are pretty spectacular! 🙂
They really are. It was fun to see them and so colorful.
janet
Hey, just cause the guy likes fancy………LOL!!!! Excellent choices Janet.
Glad you liked them, Tina. I’d love to have a faucet like this and the lion head is very cool. The “house” would be a bit large for me, no matter the style, but it’s certainly gorgeous.
janet
Fabulous images, Janet.
🙂 Many thanks.
