On a recent walk through the forest part of the park, I came upon a gathering of lichen on a downed tree. They look quite a lot like coral, don’t they? Fortunately, these weren’t under water, although the river was quite high.
I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday and that those of you getting ready to celebrate Christmas in less than a week are enjoying the pre-holiday season. Yesterday I shared some shots of our nature tree and there may be a few more Christmas posts this coming week.

How Pretty they are Janet! Look like little spinning tops!
I’m not sure what the spinning tops are, Tina, probably another sort of fungus, although they reminded me of some sort of thinly sliced Italian sausage. 🙂
