Weekly Photo Challenge: Gathering…a gathering of lichen

On a recent walk through the forest part of the park, I came upon a gathering of lichen on a downed tree.  They look quite a lot like coral, don’t they?  Fortunately, these weren’t under water, although the river was quite high.

I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday and that those of you getting ready to celebrate Christmas in less than a week are enjoying the pre-holiday season.  Yesterday I shared some shots of our nature tree and there may be a few more Christmas posts this coming week.
