Weekly Photo Challenge: State of mind…glass overflowing

This week, Ben’s challenge to us is to:

…let your inner world and the outside one converge in a photo.

People who know me know that I’m generally a glass-more-than-half-full person and although I can get upset, angry, down, or feel that someone has dumped my glass, I am for the most part a happy, positive person who enjoys life.  That’s why I think this photo is perfect: full of color, beauty, an example of getting all the sweetness possible from life (to use and share), and, as those I work with know, of moving quickly!

Janet, this has to be one of the best pictures I have ever seen! Your spirit shows. I just love those little birds and can’t wait til they are back! I cannot imagine how you were able to get such a perfect shot!!

    • Your compliment made my morning, Tildy! I was at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden with my s-i-l and spotted some hummingbirds. I took a number of photos and discarded many, but I did get several that turned out well, much better than I’d hoped! It’s difficult to click at just the right moment.

Janet , a lovely post and what a superb picture. Those wee fellows are fascinating to watch but oh so hard to snap a good shot! love it!

    • Thanks, Leanne! They are very difficult to shoot as they in almost constant motion. Catching them eating or, as I did recently while visiting my parents, sitting in a tree, is the only way that they stop long enough to photograph.

  14. Oh joy, you’ve captured my favorite feathered friend in full splendor. Only two months until they return to my gardens.

  15. Janet, this photo is absolutely amazing. The level of amazing that you should enter it into a photography contest because I think you’d win. I’d have that framed where I could admire it. 🙂
