Sometimes the beautiful things you see in nature hide something not so nice. In the summer, this branch will be filled with leaves. But hidden among the leaves are the sharp thorns, easily seen in winter and still visible in this shot, guaranteed to snag your clothing or skin if you get too close.
Time for another nomination. Karen, at bythebriny in glorious British Columbia, Canada, takes spectacular nature photos. Karen, if you’re up for it, I’d love to have you participate in the challenge (as it’s what you do anyway.) Be sure to check out her blog and photos. You’ll be glad you did.
Love your description! What is it?
Sue, I’m sorry, but I have no idea. But it’s so pretty right now.

🙄😀😀
Such amazing colors!
Yes and once the leaves are in bloom, it will just look green. 🙂

I love the look of new growth on a plant. It’s the best of seeing the structure of the plant combined with the addition of colour before the whole plant gets filled in 🙂
… and those thorns look intimidating!
The thorns aren’t large, but they’re plentiful and will grab your clothes if you get too close.

Yes, I’ve had close encounters with some plants like that. Ouch.
Ooooooo. I can identify.
Very beautiful picture.
I’m glad you liked it, Lena.

Those thorns look quite wicked but it is a lovely plant despite the thorns.
Those thorns are small but might, Pauline. 🙂 We’ll see how big they get later.

Love the froggy pictures. To me frogs are Spring.
I can’t wait until it’s warm enough for them to stick their heads out again.

I have got 3 thorn trees in my garden! The birds love them!
Yes, birds can get away with it. 🙂
