I’d love to share a photo of me and my husband retired and traveling the world, but it’s a difficult shot, even with my Nikon, as it hasn’t yet happened. Instead, I’ll share this bit of future waiting to happen, while outside the rain-snow mix and wind continue, a spring day in NE Illinois. 🙂

Beautiful Janet! I’m waiting for this future too and of course traveling with my husband someday!
At least in the meantime you’re doing a lot of traveling. I don’t get to do anywhere near as much as I’d like. But I shouldn’t complain. I get to do more than many people.
Not getting a lot of sleep though Janet as we just got a brand new puppy! I have been up all night for the last two nights but he sure is cute!
Ooooo, I can imagine. What breed?
He is a goldador. Mom
Is a lab and father a golden retriever. I am so exhausted but hopefully it gets better soon.
I like this – the promise of the blossoming into the bloom 🙂
Glad you like it. I feel that promise, too.

Today is a slow one for the “Like” buttons to load.
This future bloom is beautiful and exhibits the promise of Spring.
Ω
I know spring will be coming soon (I hope.) 🙂

Gorgeous!
Thanks very much, Sue.

Lovely pic Janet, so detailed. Have a good weekend.
Thanks, Sandra. I hope you two have a great weekend as well.

Such promise! Lovely shot.
A promise I can’t wait to see fulfilled, Karen. 🙂 Spring is really tantalizing this year!!

It’s also a picture of hope. This cold snap can’t continue forever 🙂
I certainly hope not, Joanne, although right now it’s hanging on for dear life.

Gorgeous and perfect for this prompt
Many thanks, Raewyn. I’m going to be busy through Monday, so I’m going to be struggling to keep up with the entries. Have a great weekend.

[…] This, that and the other thing Weekly Photo Challenge: Future…soon […]
an splendid mix of the blurry with fine detail, the vibrant and the subtle, as the tip of the bud with its future blossom peaking out
Thanks so much. I appreciate your visits and your comments.

🙂 Can you imagine how pretty it is when the bloom has opened and the sun is out?
Greeting from rainy, cold Vienna and have a very HAPPY weekend! 🙂
It will be gorgeous. Right now we’re having rain/snow/wind/cold and now, some sunshine. The battle for spring continues. 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend yourself!

Beautiful shot, Janet.
Thanks very much, Randy.
A bud is the second best 😉

Beautiful flower ready for the future, the near future!
Yes, the near future, although to look outside right now is to wonder how near. 🙂 Anticipation makes the arrival all the sweeter. Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth, and for the follow. I look forward to seeing you again soon and have a great weekend.
janet
Thank you dear, have a great weekend as well!
Good morning Janet. Is that a magnolia?! A bud is such a great symbol for the future. So beautiful!
brilliant photo, just love it.
And I’m happy you do, Maggie. Thanks for letting me know. That always means a lot, as I know that it takes extra tie to comment.

An awesome shot and excellent take on the future. Hope you and your husband will get to retire soon so that we can see some photos but in the meantime, here’s my take on the challenge – enjoy! http://wp.me/p2CNyA-2XO
Gale, you’ll be seeing photos whether we retire for some time or not, but that will be a wonderful day. Heading over to take a look at your entry.
janet
Love it!! You will get to that day in the future!!!
That’s a current photo, so we’re already that far. I look forward to when the buds blossom. I think that when I get home, I’ll find that the spring flowers that were out, froze. 😦 But hopefully the ones that hadn’t blossomed yet survived.
janet
I really hope they will survive! Amazing that it is still so cold there!
Yes, but spring often goes back and forth. I’m just done with the “back” and ready for the “forth.”
😀 I am sure you are!
Good image. 🙂
That looks like a little creature praying for the sun to shine
As are we all!
janet
🙂
Lovely future image, Janet. Your day will come. 🙂
