Many people might say they renovated their house in 2012.  But how many can say their house has been around since 1478?

Enamored of doors?  There are plenty more every Thursday, and sometimes later, at Norm’s blog.  Got doors?  Join us.  It’s a great time.

  1. Very nice; engineered to last!

  2. Prior-01 says:

I love the whole feel to this door – from the ornate window to the orange and gray around 🙂

  3. Hammad Rais says:

Wow! Can’t say more, really can’t.

  4. pommepal says:

It looks as though it was built to last, and obviously it did not having to be renovated till 2012. Amazing…

  5. anglogermantranslations says:

    Where is this door?

  6. joey says:

    Great find 🙂

  7. Norm 2.0 says:

Simple, functional, and perfectly maintained. Great find!

  8. What a great door, and that colour really suits it and the old building it belongs to. 1478, how wonderful that it was renovated and preserved.

  9. Wow, if walls, and doors could talk. 🙂 Few doors can claim that much history and still be working.

  10. basildonkitchens says:

That was certainly a door made to last! Can you just imagine what that door has seen…if it could only talk! Thanks for sharing 🙂

    • I love the quality that allows homes to still be standing and functional after so much time, although they certainly wouldn’t be very comfortable if not updated. Yes, the history would be fascinating.

  11. jesh stg says:

Love the iron work of the window on this door! That they put the year down in which it was built – I think a great info for the ones who come after us. Happy Thursday to you!

  12. Wonderful – love the colours too

  13. Dan Antion says:

    Beth nice. I likd that!

  14. jan says:

I love the window – I wonder if that’s original to the door. Somehow I think not.

  15. The door has so much character. The wrought iron work has a great many images in it. At first, I saw a cat. Then, the symbol for medicine. Also, an abratct circular design. It’s a very interesting door, Janet. Long lasting, too. Love it …!!!

  16. Helen Bushe says:

What a wonderful door. Great image.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
