This week, Ben’s challenge to us is to turn something familiar into something not so familiar, something abstract or different. If you get close enough to a thing, you see a beauty that’s not the same beauty as the larger or whole. This is what I enjoyed about this photo, shot while washing dishes and bottles. In honor of Earth Day, I chose a green abstract. 🙂
Happy Friday!
Love this ! Great entry
Thanks. I loved the way the bubbles looked inside the green glass. I took some through clear glass as well. So much fun in the kitchen. 🙂

sunch a great abstract idea – I went for the more corny entry – but your was so far my favourite
Awww, thanks. I appreciate that. I’m just getting started on entries, so I’ll see you in a bit.
Oh I look forward to your response
Intriguing and pleasant on the eye.
I’m glad you like it, Graham. Looks a bit sci-fi to me, which is fun.

Love this. Terrific.
Have to do something with all those bottle, right, Sandra? 🙂 Actually, this wasn’t a wine bottle, but it did make for good fun.

Great photo, Janet. It looks like a drawing of a complex molecule.

My scientific side emerging, Allan. 🙂 It does look like that when we see it very close, which is what makes this fun.
Cool! Looks like some weird nebula.
It is, but just a tiny one inside the nebular of the bottle inside the nebula of our house. 🙂
janet
I love this – reminds me of molecular structures….and the green is perfect!
I enjoyed how complex it looked and the color (from the bottle) as well. Guess women aren’t the only ones who get color from a bottle. 🙂

Such a wonderful green abstract, Janet, Love it. 🙂
Thanks, Sylvia. I’ve been waiting for some time to use it and this seemed to be the right time. Happy Friday and have a great weekend.
Well it’s perfect for the challenge and Earth Day. 😀
Very soothing to the eye!
Thanks!
janet
This is indeed an amazing abstract. Very nice
Glad you like it, Hammad.

The picture reminds me of those chemistry formulas that they tried to teach me in high school. But there is a difference: those I hated, these I love!
Oh, I like it!
Oh, I’m so glad. Truly. 🙂 There’s beauty even in the small things and in unexpected places.

😀
Very nice thinking to use green for Earth Day aswell. And dish-bubbles are really fun to play with. Great shot Janet!
Thanks, Lena. There are so many cool shots when cooking or working in the kitchen. Some, though, aren’t easy to get without ruining dinner. 🙂
Ha ha!! I agree and I used to be a lot on twitter for a time and that was kind of the same problem… some days we had “twittdinner” instead if the usual, which meant that it was part ruined. 😉

intriguing indeed. reminds me of molecular structures.
It did me as well, Klara.

FAB shot …. and entry!!! I could have never guessed what it was. Brilliant!
Love it, there is always beauty around us, even in a kitchen sink
Interesting take on the theme, well done.
Thanks. Glad you like it.

That’s a cool shot! Happy Earth Day Janet! It is gorgeous here and everything is in bloom finally. A sigh of relief!
I’m glad for you, Nicole. We had quite a bit of rain a day ago and everything grew much larger almost overnight. Glorious!
Very interesting shot Janet, and very abstract – so suitable for Earth day too. Well done 🙂
Thanks very much. I’ve been waiting to use it and today seemed like the day. Enjoy the weekend.
I know what you mean about waiting for the right time to use a photo! Have a nice weekend.
Definitely an abstract. love it.
Thanks, Woolly.

so clever with the earth day green = and this is just fun (bubbles are just fun)
When our girls were younger, playing with them with bubbles was always a joy. Probably would be fun now, too, now that I think about it.
janet
yeah – something light and breezy about the fun bubbles – and your photo here also reminds me of some chemistry formula – ha!
It does, but I hope that’s not a bad memory. 🙂 Have you seen some of the enormous bubbles people have done? What fun that must be!!
oh no not at all! and you actually reminded me of when my father-n-law gave the kids these old school bubble blowers. They were sticks and looped string (they bought at a craft show) and you dipped them in huge pails and they worked so well. Enormous bubbles flew all around, but I am not sure if they are as enormous as the ones you refer to from other folks?
anyhow, with our old school wands, the Dogs played too. And then I remembered some kids with the little plastic wands – oh – such sweet memories. 🙂 ❤
The other thing our girls loved was the large chalk that they used to draw on the driveway and sidewalk. Cheap and creative fun.
oh yeah – and I remember trying to teach the kids hopscotch – like =”how does the grid go….?”

🙂 what a fantastic picture! Looks almost as if it were from outer space 😀
Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
It’s been a great Saturday so far. I’m glad you love the photo. You have a great weekend as well.

Once again, an incredible photograph for the challenge, Janet. Well done …
