Agnes, in the 70’s, I worked for the winter in the Jungendherberge in Grindelwald. What a gorgeous place! I loved Switzerland, where all the trains ran on time and there were so many mountains. 🙂
Grindelwald is truly an amazing place. It’s just next to the Jungfrau, the second most famous peak after the Matterhorn. I can imagine how busy you were there in the winter season, but I hope you visited both peaks! Oh yes the Swiss train system is well-known for its punctuality. 🙂
I didn’t visit the Jungfrau, but I saw it out my window every morning. I was being very frugal with money at that time. 🙂 Didn’t get to the Matterhorn, unfortunately, but I was all over Europe for almost a year. It was a wonderful experience!
Wow, a view on the Jungfrau! I could live with that! 🙂 It was certainly a great year. I live in Europe but couldn’t visit all european countries yet. But I’m on it. 🙂
Sue, although I love the delicacy of spring and the lushness of summer, there’s such beauty to found in the dead and dying things of fall and winter. I enjoy trying to share some of that beauty and I know you do as well.
Thank you very much, Lena. We’re having some of the cloudy, dark weather we were talking about just yesterday, although it’s not dark like night, just gloomy. However, I have sunshine in my heart, so I’m good. 🙂
Pretty Janet! Our weather has been terrible this week rainy and very cold. It is bursting with green though. I’ve been quiet over here as I’m still adjusting to the puppy. Not getting much sleep. Like having my kids all over again.
Oh, that lack of sleep thing was tough. I remember sitting in a chair nursing one of our daughters, thinking I might fall asleep and drop her. It never happened, thankfully. Cloudy, windy, and probably at some point rainy here today as well. I’m just thankful for not having the terrible weather and flooding that Texas and other places are having. Gloom I can live with.
It’s like lace. Nice picture!
Good morning, Agnes, and thanks. It reminded me of beautiful old lace as well

It’s truly beautiful! Good evening, Janet, and greetings from Switzerland. 🙂

It was a wonderful time and since I was there in winter, I also had a ski pass. 🙂
It’s really nice to ski there. 🙂
Beautifully delicate in decay

Sunshine in the heart is the best sunshine 🙂
True and the most lasting.
Very appealing shot.
Much appreciated.

Me too Janet. The flooding is tragic.
I like this series, Janet. It is a preview of Fall.
Ω
Or a review of fall and winter. 🙂 I loved the lacy look of it.
A nice dried arrangement perhaps?
Ω
Unfortunately, I was in the park and couldn’t take it with me. But it would be lovely as part of a dried arrangement.
A lovely play of textures.
Thanks, Karen. There’s lots of beauty even in dead things (at least in the plant world.)
janet
Beautiful Janet.
Thanks, Raewyn.
Ah…just lovely, lacy and light!
Carrying the beauty of summer into the less verdant seasons. 🙂

So delicate and dainty.
Something lovely to see when there wasn’t much else.

Always. 🙂
So pretty, Janet. Love this. 🙂
Thanks. Now the skeletons are being eclipsed by the new growth. But they make winter beautiful.
