We made the drive from Philadelphia to Chicago today, after a stop at the airport to deliver our older daughter for her flight to LA that arrived on the west coast long before we tottered into our house. We enjoyed four busy, but good, days, including “the graduation.” But before I head for a night of delicious sleep in my own bed, I’ll get my black and white challenge response done and scheduled.
I spotted this beauty in the Japanese section of the Art Institute of Chicago. If I recall correctly, it was basket, a decorative one obviously. I love the shapes of it and I think it translates very well into black and white from the original tan/brown for the theme of the third week: “Black and White.”
Truly remarkable! Your snap as well as the basket.
Thanks very much, Hammad.

That’s a long ride – phew. I think the basket looks great in B&W. In fact, I’m having trouble imagining it not being black.
It took in theory about 12 1/2 hours with the airport dropoff, but with stopped traffic due to construction in some places, it took longer. I’ve done it by myself more than once, but it’s easier with two.

That’s a long ride alone behind the wheel. I’ve done Pittsburgh to Iowa a few times, about 16 hours, but never alone.
Great shot! Glad you had a good time. It is nice to be home though. I fly home from Melbourne tomorrow and I’m looking forward to my own bed.
Once when our girls were little, we took our annual vacation to Wyoming, which they loved. But when we got home, one daughter rolled on the floor because she was so happy to be back. 🙂 Hope you make/made it safely back and I know exactly how much you’ll enjoy your bed. The bed in our hotel was quite comfortable, but the pillow wasn’t as comfy as mine and, for a variety of reasons, I didn’t sleep well for several of the nights. Early to bed tonight!

I understand that! The bed here in the Melbourne apartment is smaller than ours at home at neither T nor I has slept that well. He’s very tall, so it’s been cozy!!
😉
Strongly seductive and designed…great that your travel eastward was memorable. Happy Photo Challenge.
It was a good trip, Sally. The most memorable part of the trip home was the ice/snow we got into along the way. Wasn’t much, but good grief, it’s mid-May!! Glad you enjoyed the photo and have a wonderful week.

Beautiful basket and I love the silhouette effect with the backlit window, Janet.
Thanks very much, Jane. The basket was truly beautiful, so I’m glad the shot could convey that.
The basket makes a beautiful b&w subject.
Thanks, Karen. At this time of year, I crave and love color, but some things just look really good in B&W.

Wonderful shape. Love this in black & white
Perfect in B/W. Seeing the photo before your title, I thought this was one of those designer chairs.
Beautiful texture and lighting capture! 🙂
Amy, this is one shot that looks more dramatic and B&W. Glad you like it.
