Not long ago, I walked through the forest part of my park, reveling in the signs of the long-anticipated spring. Immediately upon entering, there were wild flowers carpeting the forest floor, each more breath-taking than than the one before. Their beauty brought a grin, not just a smile but a full-fledged grin, to my face that stayed with me, sometimes morphing into actual noises of joy. It was a glorious morning of nature at her best.

Beautiful! I don’t know those flowers, we don’t have them…
I have to admit I don’t know what they are, either. I always mean to look them up when I get home, then forget. But they are beautiful.

Rare beauty these wild flowers are!
They aren’t in bloom for long, but while they are, they’re so beautiful, Hammad, and there are so many of them (and other kinds as well) during that time.

Best type of carpeting ever. 🙂
I completely agree, Judy!

Janet, what a gorgeous array…I can understand your enthusiasm for that initial surprise and the moments that followed. Happy Photo Challenge.
It was a glorious walk, Sally.

Fabulous!
Thanks, Karen. It was certainly a fabulous sight although no shot can convey the overwhelming feel of all those small, beautiful flowers growing everywhere.

We have a park here where wild fawn lilies bloom in profusion every April, and I haven’t yet been able to capture them to my satisfaction.
That would be me as well. But we can keep having fun trying. 🙂
That’s very pretty.
After a long winter of no flowers, the blankets of these and other wildflowers were very welcome and stunning to the senses, Dan.

I don’t know if I’ve seen such a wide patch of them in recent memory.
it is stunning!! 😀
Thanks much, Aletta. 🙂

Stunning image Janet. I can imagine how you would feel upon coming across this wonder.
And there were lots more patches of these and other wildflowers. It was a great walk.
I love the flowers with the interspersed dried leaves, and then the trees as a backdrop. Lovely scene and photograph.
Thanks, Angeline. This sort of scene is one of the beauties of spring.

It’s just incredible to find this luscious blanket of flowers out in the wild! Such a scene really puts the carefully curated patches in front lawns and on the sidewalks out here to shame.
It would be fun to have a lawn with wildflowers in it, at least in the spring. Glad you enjoyed these, Hannah.

That does look lovely, Janet.

Looks like you got right down with the flowers. Wonderful way to welcome spring. 🙂
It was a wonder-filled walk, Carol.

These are so gorgeous! They’re some kind of trout lily.
Thanks for the ID, Susan. 🙂

They’re one of my favourites.
