My usual macro subject is something from nature, often a flower. Well, an onion is from nature, so I’m not too far afield (so to speak.) Anyway, here’s my offering for “Macro” this week.
Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Macro…This one will make you cry.

looks very beautiful!
Thanks. Something a little different for this Monday.
janet
Very pretty!
Thanks, Dan. A little different perspective on something we take for granted in the kitchen.

Lovely, almost as though a beautiful piece of freshly dyed paper were ripped and arranged for enjoyment. Proving how macro can change our understanding of a subject. Very nice. Happy Photo Challenge.
Glad you like it, Sally. I hope your Monday is off to a wonderful start. Haven’t had a chance to see your offerings yet, but I know I’ll enjoy them.

Great idea. I’m not sure I would have realized it was an onion. Looks totally different this way.
I have a small “thing” about food/kitchen/cooking shots, especially when they’re macro. As you say, they look very different. Glad you liked this one.

You’ve shown that onions are definitely worth a second look.
When I read that it would make me cry ,I got ready to see some poor wee dead creature. I laughed when I saw it was an onion. .
Yes, the title was deliberately misleading, yet true. 🙂
janet
Me too. 🙂
Gorgeous colour and a clever shot – lovely
Thanks very much. I’m happy you liked it.

Absolutely stunning!
Thanks, Angeline!

Wonderful abstract painting. Oh wait it’s photo of an onion. Just like the little girl with the iPhone video in the Apple commercial only better.
Happy Monday
Carol
I haven’t seen the ad, Carol, or if I did, I don’t remember it. But I’m glad you like the shot.

Interesting macro. You have such an eye for details that I just don’t see
I think all photographers have certain things that catch their eyes, but I think we can learn to see other things as well, although maybe we just have to look harder.
janet
Amazing how much is revealed when you look very close.
One of the reasons I so enjoy macros, Karen.
janet
Amazing macro, Janet. Who knew that an onion could look so gorgeous? 🙂
Glad you like it, Sylvia. The red skin really does look like paper doesn’t it and I love the color between the slices.
janet
Wow! I love this!
Thanks, Gina. I’m glad.

You got me with your title. I thought it was going to be something sad. Not beautiful!
🙂 I like to be tricky like that sometimes.
janet
Perfect! That’s my type of shot! See, even things that make you cry can be beautiful. 🙂
So very true. I’m always seeing things in the kitchen while I’m cooking that beg for a photo. Mostly I can capture them, but not always. 🙂 Fun to try, though.

Gorgeous Janet!
Thanks, Nicole.
