Colmar, one of France’s most picturesque cities, is an historic town filled with colorful, half-timbered houses resembling old-time London if someone had run amok there with pastels.  But Colmar also boasts Little Venice, a bit of river just widen enough for narrow boats filled with passengers to ply their ways, while those of us on the banks and bridges instead ply our cameras.

Lovely picture Janet. Somehow I don’t see us taking our boat up there… 😉

    • No, it’s a bit narrow even for a narrow boat (in the British sense). We didn’t take a boat ride, but the river really adds to the beauty of the area.

  10. Colmar is one of my favourite haunts… I lived in the Alsace for 10 years. Colmar is magic during the Christmas fairs – mulled wine, gingerbread, snow, Christmas trinkets… sigh. Thanks for the free ticket to happy memories 🙂
