Walking to the post office recently, I spotted someone in the back of a car in the parking lot behind the recently opened auto parts store. Unfortunately, it was one of the few times I’d gone out without my phone (camera). I contemplated going back for it, but I was determined to prove I could exist without it. Drat! That’s when an oddball photo op always comes by.
(Un)fortunately, this poor woman was imprisoned once more yesterday and I had my phone. I guess I should have called the police, but…
Haha! Loved your story, then laughed when I saw your photo!
I’m happy you enjoyed both, Georgie. Happy Saturday.

She looks quite impassive for a kidnap victim. 🙂
She may be tired of waiting for someone to rescue her or perhaps drugs? 🙂
janet
Just cool or a fatalist?
That’s anyone’s guess!
This is a brilliant photo/story! Made me laugh (alot)
I’m glad. Enjoy the rest of your weekend as much.

And her heads o backwards! Very Funny 😀 😀
You may think that’s funny, but I’m sure she doesn’t!
janet
Hope the window was left open a crack so she didn’t over-heat!
Alas, the kidnapper wasn’t that considerate, Su.

Or was it perhaps a ploy to use the car lane reserved for those with a passenger? Do you have those? I’ve heard of people here putting a mannequin in their passenger seat so they could use the fast lane. 😃
I have heard of that, Su, but we don’t have those lanes here. They have them in the Phoenix area where my parents live. Not sure about the reason for this one, but I was so happy to see “her” again so I could take a photo.

There was a case this week in NH when the police received a call about a baby being left in a car. They responded, broke the window, and then found the child was a very, very real life doll. At least your person is recognizable for what it is.
Your story wouldn’t be funny, Judy, although I imagine the person whose window was broken weren’t thrilled, either. I doubt the doll was left there to fool people. But unfortunately, people actually leave children and pets in cars.

Thanks for the morning smile…
Always happy to start someone’s day with a smile, Sally. I hope it’s a good one.

Lesson learned? If you leave your phone, take a camera.
True, Charles, but much easier to take my phone with its excellent camera. 🙂
Then take your phone as a camera and turn on airplane mode so nobody can call you.
I didn’t leave it for that reason. But the post office is only a few blocks away and I thought I’d be wild and crazy and leave the phone at home. 🙂 I should have known better. I almost always see something I want to photograph.
I know the feeling. I just did a tour of my town with camera to gather pictures for the next couple of weeks. There have been things I wanted to photograph for the last couple of months and I finally get the opportunity.
Good one!! I did not see this coming 😀
She must not have either. 🙂

Reminds me of an article I read about someone who put a mannequin in the front passenger seat, so he could use the carpool lane. He got away with it for a few days until a suspicious cop caught him! 😄
I’ve heard of that as well as women who put a mannequin in the car so it appears they aren’t alone. This one wouldn’t work well for either, but it’s just right for an oddball photo.

You seriously failing society by not reporting this as a penalty I am ordering you to eat a rare stick full of live scorpions!!
Noooooooooo! Not live scorpions! Next time I spot her, I’ll call immediately!
janet
😀
Now that is something you don’t see every day. Love it Janet. 😀
I was glad to have a second chance so I could share it, Cee. 🙂
janet
This also helps you get through the HOV lane without getting ticketed.
Randy
We don’t have those here, Randy, so I think this was just for fun. 🙂

Someone has a very weird sense of humour. 😀 I suppose it’s one way to make sure your car doesn’t get stolen.
Who knows the reason, Sylvia, but I enjoyed it immensely whatever their reason.
janet
Awesomeness!!! Great capture.
Yes – always try to have a camera with me. Note to self: Grab the point & shoot out of my bike bag and put it back into my purse. 🙂
I always have my phone for the very purpose of having an easy to carry camera at all times. It’s been great.

I’m hoping that you have had a terrific week so far.
How funny, isn’t it great when fate rewards you for bravely distancing yourself from technology with a second chance?!
I was happy. It was just too good a shot to miss.
