Since I’ve been posting about Luxeuil, we’ll stay with that theme for Thursday Doors.  Here’s the second set of doors imported from this French town , shared on our 32nd anniversary.  🙂

Almost un-door-ground

  1. The blue doors in the second photo are beautiful, Janet.

  2. The last one reminds me of a certain garment for women in some parts of the world.

  3. Norm 2.0 says:

Gorgeous selection. I’ll say it again: I’m sure that together Italy and France have at least 80% of the world’s supply of beautiful doors.
    Nice ones Janet 🙂

    • They certainly have some of the oldest ones, Norm, and many of them are beautiful. I haven’t been to Italy in many years, but I have a feeling it would take me much longer to walk there now. 🙂

  4. joey says:

Really lovely — I’m especially fond of the blue with the iron work. Love those! 🙂

  5. cwaugh212 says:

Did you ever notice that old world doors tend to get worn near the ground? I think they take more of a beating at the bottom for some reason. These are great doors, BTW.

  6. Beautiful old doors, Janet. I love the ‘un-door-ground’ shot. Looks like the building sank into the street.

  7. jesh stg says:

The blue door is so cute (for lack of a better description lol). Hope you had a great anniversary:)

  8. slfinnell says:

Happy Anniversary! What a wonderful place to celebrate!

  9. Door photos are always so cool to see! Yours are always beautiful! I really need to remember to shoot interesting doors!

  10. Candy says:

love the “colorful” door and thanks for the giggle at that last one 😉

  11. Vinny Idol says:

All of these doors look like they belong to some basilica or medieval church. I like the design of the brown door. The patterns remind me of my grandma’s old furniture. The clarity on these photos is superb too.

  12. Vinny Idol says:

They were shot on an Iphone? These pictures look professional. Thanks for responding.

  13. dimlamp says:

Congrats on your anniversary! I think I like the second photo best mainly because of the colour.

  14. OH, I love the teal one, and little blue one!

May you two walk through doors always together! Happy Anniversary!! xx

  15. marianallen says:

Ooo! The blue ones! The blue ones!

  16. All cool doors but the last one has an interesting threshold 🙂

  17. […] way carefully down the steps, worn in the middle from many feet over many years.  Time for door photos, coffee/cappuccino, and finding raspberry […]

  18. Joanne Sisco says:

Oh my – that first one has such a grand framing, but then just a plain slab of plywood. The door police should be talking to the owner about squandering the potential of this beautiful archway.

… but then the beautiful blue doors that followed made me feel better 🙂

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
