Door number one, door number two, and door number three are found in downtown Naperville, Illinois, while the last one is from Urbana, Illinois. I’m sure some of you remember “Let’s Make a Deal”, where host Monty Hall would ask people if they wanted “Door number one, door number two, or door number three.” If you think it was a simple choice, there’s actually a lot of math/logic behind it. Read about it here but for choosing a winner without any risk, take a look at the variety of doors on “Thursday Doors” or grab your camera and participate. Norm is our Monty Hall and all participants are winners.
Beautiful selection, Janet!
Someone had some skills.

True!
Oh, Janet, you certainly started my day off with a smile. These are absolutely beautiful. Hats off to the artist(s) because their skills are really on display here. 🙂
I agree. There are some amazing street artists out there. As for the smile, you know I’m always happy to get the response. Blessings on your day.
Love it!!!!
Randy
Thanks, Randy. Have a great day.

It was a classic and I’m glad you like the shots.

Great introduction Janet! I love all these doors and all are winners!
I’ve been watching Let’s Make a Deal reruns on Buzzer TV while having dinner lately. Such a fun show, and now that you mention it Norm is our Monty Hall! 🙂
And in this deal, we all win, Deborah. 🙂
:)!!
Interesting collection.
Thanks.
janet
Very nice, doors into art!
Faux doors. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed them, Vicky.

Great collection, Janet! We just visited Naperville for the first time, last week.
If you come again, drop me a line. It would be fun to meet. We live in Naperville.

These are wonderful doors, Janet. I take door number two, for today. Maybe it’s a washing machine 🙂
I think you won the sports car, Dan. Thanks for making a deal today. 🙂

I’ve got a soft spot for the Boulangerie off course, but all of these are wonderful. As for me being Monty well I believe he is Canadian so there’s that; oh yeah, there’s that doors thing too 😉
Doors + Monty = the full Monty? I’d love to go to a real boulangerie but I’m glad you enjoyed this one and all the rest. Four in one post is a good deal. 🙂
janet
Lovely. I love Urbana. It is one of my favorite places ever 🙂 Still, Door #2 has my affections. I think the bicycle makes the shot. Fab collection!
Yeah, that bicycle looked great there and I loved the door handles. But I’m glad you enjoyed them all.

Stunning captures!
It was a lot of fun finding them. A good mural is such a joy.

Great images Janet
Thanks, Raewyn.
Fabulous murals, Janet. I love that first one, of the artist painting. Brilliant.
What I thought was sort of funny is that the second one looks a bit like a mural as well. There are some great artists around, aren’t there? Must be fun to see your work out there.
janet
Great painted doors!:) I don’t remember “Let’s make a deal” It must have been while I lived in Holland…Since you have family living abroad, you understand when I come back to Holland and they refer to something “everyone” knows, and they look at me like I lost my mind:):)
Love the handle of that blue door – artsy!
I completely understand about not knowing about “Let’s Make a Deal” or not being up to speed on “what everybody knows” when you go back to Holland. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the doors.
janet
Great set of Doors Janet, the murals are amazing 🙂
I’m also impressed by the reference to the Monty Hall logic problem, it’s one of those things that takes a while to get your head around. The best analogy I’ve come across for roughly explaining the logic to why you should swap doors, is if you consider tossing a coin. The odds of tossing a coin once, and it coming out heads is 50/50, or 50%, or a 1/2, depending on how you want to say it. But if I had tossed the coin 9 times before it, and the answer was always a tail, then the odds of getting a head increase dramatically, to approx 90%. I think that is amazing, because the odds technically should be 50% for every toss, whether you know what went before or not! 🙂 Thank you again for referencing this real quirky bit of logic! 🙂
My pleasure all around. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

All of these are such great doors! Have to get back to Illinois, I guess. (We were married in Elgin, Illinois. My wife comes from there.)
Except for being in the worst financial state of any state, Illinois is a great place. 🙂 We live in Naperville and it’s a great city and has train access into “the city”, so that’s also good, although we rarely go there.
janet
I think Elgin has train access, too. But when we were there, I never had a free moment to go into the city- not that I’m complaining, mind you. She’s still got family there so we’ll be back one day soon.
Let me know if you come back. It would be fun to meet.
Definitely! 🙂
These are super creative!
Love the doors And murals!
I’m glad. Thanks for the visit and have a great weekend.
janet
You captured art doors Janet!
Going now to look at the link about choosing the doors….
Hope you enjoyed the link and will enjoy your weekend.
I did – very interesting even tho the first little section on the page was horribly written and had so many typos I was like “what?”
But scrolling down was the Door info and super interesting to read.
Ohhh – I love these, Janet … especially the bicycle 🙂
Joanne, I loved the bike as well and it’s the only “real” door photo in the bunch. What talented artists there are around!
Good old Soukup’s! We had one many years ago and I loved that old place!
This is as close as I’ve ever been to one. 🙂
