It’s been a bit dreary here in northeastern Illinois and it might be that way where you are as well. A bit of flowery beauty doesn’t come amiss at this time of year in the northern hemisphere and I hope my friends in the southern one will enjoy it as well.

“Scatter as a prayer
escaping my lips…
as orchids
blooming in clouds.”

“When two friends understand each other totally, the words are soft and strong like an orchid’s perfume.”
~Sara Jeannette Duncan
Beautiful!!!
Thanks, Aletta. I guess strictly speaking it’s not really a color, but it looks bright and cheerful.

We may need a new adjective to describe the beauty of this orchid. Nice way to start the new year. 🙂
It’s been so grey and gloomy the last few days, I thought something bright and cheerful would be welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.

I loved those quotes and always enjoy seeing orchid flowers of any variety at any time.
I really like orchids, too, Madison. Just bought a bright yellow begonia at Trader Joe’s yesterday. I couldn’t resist the cheerful color! It may show up here soon, too. 😉

So appreciate the bright cheerful bloom on this rainy day in TN!
We have rain in the forecast, too, and I’m sure the rest of the day will be another grey one. So we can both enjoy this. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment as well.

Your poems and photo go so well together. Weather has a very strong effect on my moods.
Weather effects many people, Carol, especially unrelenting gloomy weather. I’m ready for some sunshine here, that’s for sure.

I love orchids, too. I have a bouquet of them right now above my kitchen sink. My husband makes it a practice to get a fresh bouquet of flowers each week at the Kings Sooper market,, and this last week it was orchids, one of our favorites as they smell so nice and last longer than some others.
What a lovely thing for him to do, Joyce!

Yes. It all started when I shopped and brought home a beautiful crystal vase for the roses I never got (then), and I hinted that I intended for it to be used. 🙂 From then on I got my roses, and all kinds of beautiful flowers and now see them more frequently, so have it filled most of the time with a variety of flowers. 🙂
Reminds me of warm tropical locales. Lovely image.
Thanks, Karen. Although I like winter, I wouldn’t mind a week in a tropical locale.
