Photo Friday…On the edge

The Photo Challenge has moved into Wordless Wednesday’s spot and the Oddball Photo Challenge is back to (Silent) Sunday, so what’s left for Friday?  I have to go with Photo Friday, as I like the sound (but I refuse to use Foto Friday.)  So I’ll probably be sharing a photo on Fridays now. Even though I’ll let it speak for itself, I welcome comments.  🙂  Happy Friday.

I know what you mean with the changes to the photo challenge from Friday to Wednesday. I like your idea of Photo Friday. Great shot!

  2. I think you should call this “Where there’s a will there’s a way”!

    • I also considered “Hanging in there”. Such an amazing ability to grow anywhere. This is only tangentially related, but have you ever noticed when you see a tree that’s blown over, how shallow most of the roots are? Hard to imagine they stay up as well as they do!

Whenever I see reminders like this of nature’s resilience and perseverance to survive, I wonder what possible chance do I have against the weeds that overrun my yard each summer 🙂

    • Joanne, this is so true and really made me laugh. A dandelion has a longer tap root than some trees I’ve seen, so go figure!!

      • Joanne Sisco says:

I’m convinced the dandelion is absolutely indestructible. I can’t help but wonder what the grand design was for this plant. It has a lovely flower (I mean, really! Those fields of gold in the spring are spectacular), but it’s supported by an outrageously ugly plant!

      • The problem for me is the space they take up in the yard! If they just bloomed like a flower and were then gone, fine. But the ugly plant is also enormous! They look just like yellow flowers in the wild, though. 🙂

  4. Hi J. I posted my Photo Challenge only today, having actually missed that Wednesday email, until I saw mention of it in one of your missals (not ‘missiles’ – albeit some of your offerings are of that nature). Anyway, as I will now suffer Friday withdrawal symptoms on account of the new Wednesday thingy, I think I will run with a Foto Friday – since you have cast that title aside.

    Feeding on your scraps!

    • Almost the weekend, MB, and I hope yours will be good. I’m glad one of my missiles didn’t hit you or things would be very different. You are very welcome to use Foto Friday or even join me in a Photo Friday. But don’t call them scraps. Those go to the dogs or cats or other animals. Leftovers make another delicious meal. 🙂

This is a great picture Janet!

  6. Brave little shrubbery! Hopefully it has deep roots in case inclement weather threatens to push it over the edge.

  7. Plants are such opportunist! I love their tenacity. 🙂

Not sure I’m happy about the move to Wednesday – and admire your independent spirit for moving to Friday!! Love your shot – makes me feel dizzy just looking at it!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
