Thursday Doors…His and hers

Is that Norm, shogun of Thursday Doors, on the right-hand door of this rather elegant piece of furniture from the Chicago Institute of Art?  Perhaps not, but he does host one of the most enjoyable weekly challenges in blogdom.  He is, however, a benevolent ruler, so if you have some door photos to share, please head over to his blog to link up with the rest of the troops.

  1. What a beautiful piece of furniture, Janet. Is that where you compose your Thursday Door posts? 😉

Did you photograph this gorgeous piece at the Chicago Institute of Art? (I see the tag, so must be yes) I love that place, and I love your post this morning. Norm will appreciate it!! (What does the little 9 in the right corner of your post mean?)

This is such a beautiful piece of furniture, Janet. I’m really glad it had doors, so you could share it today. The craftsmanship in the woodworking is quite amazing, but when you add the artistic aspects, this thing is over the top wonderful.

I shogun get upset if you starts spreading rumors about me 😉
Beautiful piece of furniture art. I’m just trying to figure out if most of it is painted on and lacquered or if there’s any inlay work on this too. Either way it is a gorgeous piece 🙂

  13. Vicky says:

Beautiful, with a chuckle too, we will all now be thinking of Shogun Norm 🙂

  14. marianallen says:

Makes me wonder what’s on the other sides of those doors. Why don’t you sneak into the CIA some night and close them and take a picture for us? ~innocent look~

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
