Thursday Doors…Well spotted!

Door?  What door?  You can’t miss it, but you don’t really notice it.  Just goes to show Philadelphia is more than historic doors!

Norm, our fearless leader, can be spotted periodically (but every Thursday) on his blog. You can also cat-ch other entries to the Thursday Doors challenge by clicking on the linky critter in his Thursday blog entry. It’s paws-atively addictive!

  1. Now, now, Janet: this is NOT a ‘Wordless Wednesday’ post. You MUST give us some words to go with this picture so we don’t sit around scratching our heads all day.

    • Thursday Doors is where we post photos of cool doors and, although you probably don’t notice the door, this qualifies. We were walking around Philadelphia this weekend with our younger daughter and a friend and I saw (spotted) this amazing decoration. I had to include it because it’s most likely a once-in-a-lifetime sight. Better? 🙂

      • No, not really. I knew it was a door because of the label on the post, and you had said it was Philadelphia, but what I want to know is things like who put it there, does it have any significant meaning, does the door actually open, etc. I understood what kind of post it was, but I was just trying to be cute (or aggravating?) and insist that you give us some history. Great play on words in your title, by the way.

      • I have no background information, Sandra, so you’ll just have to speculate. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the title and I knew you were being cute, but there’s no more to be had.

      • Doggone it! I just know there has to be a story behind that — if only we could find it.

Oh, wow, that is just a wonderful shot for this challenge…well done for finding this, just brilliant!

  6. joey says:

    Neat! That’s a fab find! 🙂

  7. Wow! Is the chain for effect or to stop someone robbing the over-sized door knocker? Great find, Janet.

  8. marianallen says:

I love it! Now I want one! lol

  9. I thought New Englanders knew how to deter someone from using the front door by putting a flower pot there. This takes it to a whole new level. 🙂 Great one, Janet.

Still trying to figure out how this door works…such a unique door, where is it located? Someplace special to cats or just a home?

  11. jan says:

Kitty wants to come indoors obviously!

  12. That’s a neat idea!

I loved your intro to Norm’s Thursday Doors! It was paws-atively brilliant! 🙂

Awesome find. I can imagine that some seriously funny folks live there 🙂

  14. jesh stg says:

Haha -is this the backdoor of a zoo? Now I wonder what prompted the owner to do this??

  15. Bahah, I couldn’t believe my eyes if I saw this one. I’d believe it had been planted.

  16. slfinnell says:

    I don’t think it was Cheet-ing a bit. Lame try I know🙄

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, that or the other thing.
