It’s hard to believe that a week ago, I was enjoying my last day in Southern California, taking photos, having the most amazing mocha of my life, and visiting Descanso Gardens (photos will appear on the blog soon.) The thing I most dislike about a vacation (at least a good one), is how quickly on returning home, it seems as if I’d never been gone. 😦
But here I am in rainy, grey NE Illinois, lasagne/a ingredients ready to assemble later, ready for the photo challenge theme, which today is “Security.” I’m going to get very personal here. Although there are obvious things that might make me feel secure, as a Christian, there’s one Person who makes me feel secure and that’s God. As even my elementary French can tell, this is the verse that says, “For me to live is Christ.” That’s my security. And the photo reminds me that there’s a funny story about getting to see this church that I haven’t told in the 2 1/2 years since I took the photo. Upcoming post subject!
Happy Wednesday!
Not much else is necessary. Nicely done, Janet.
Thanks, Dan.
Amen.
Good to read, John.

Nice photo, Janet. I look forward to the story that goes with it.

I’m glad this prompt reminded me of it, Allan.
Welcome back to gloomy Illinois! Looking forward to your story!
Ha, it IS a bit gloomy, isn’t it? I know spring is out there somewhere, but I’d be happy if it would hurry up a bit. On the other hand, we’re not threatened by torrential rains a/o tornadoes as are some parts of the country, so I’m not going to complain too much.

Lovely photo, Janet. You’re very lucky to have that belief.
Thanks, Sandra. I’m blessed, but anyone can be. 🙂
Janet, I’m not a believer as such … and I think it wonderful that people can find strength in their God (whatever shape he comes in). I really like your entry and post.
Thanks. 🙂
If I had not seen your post first I would have chosen this subject. But that is okay, I have a faith-based blog where I regularly pontificate as it were, so I chose another focus for the weekly photo challenge. So glad to know you have the eternal security of God. It makes much of the daily grind so much easier to endure.
That it does, Joe. I know you feel the same and that makes me happy.

Lovely photo Janet; and now I’m intrigued by the story that goes with it.
Guess I better work on that soon. 🙂
🙂
Can’t wait to hear the funny story!
Guess I better do it Friday, as tomorrow is Thursday Doors. Then back to Yosemite and my California trip.

Lovely.
It is gray here too. And stormy! Good night to coffee, music, and laptop 🙂
Hope you had a good evening. We just got back from church and I’m settling in to watch a bit of hockey and read my new Donna Leon book.
The only reality is between you and your spiritual being – whatever that is. Everything else is smoke and mirrors. I never trust anyone who says you have to believe like they do. But I do trust people who believe but don’t have to explain why.
And who live like they really believe, no just talk about it.

Wish you’d also told us the funny story, but I shouldn’t be too greedy! ☺
