“Travel” is my choice for Sally’s “Challenger’s Choice”.  The view from Griffith Observatory is one of the top ten things to do or see in Los Angeles.  The night we visited, the observatory was open, free, and impressive.  So was the view.

I’ve never seen it at night. I heard it’s a great view and base on your photo it is stunning 🌃

  3. Su Leslie says:

    Wonderful view.

    • It is, Su. I’m glad I don’t live in that area, but it’s wonderful to visit and marvelous to be able to see such a view.

🙂 I feel that way about a few places. Actually I feel that way about Auckland where I do live!!! I’m sure I’ll like it more in the future when it’s somewhere I visit.

  4. It looks…. expansive!

  5. Joe Owens says:

Wow Janet, this is breathtaking even just from the photo. I cannot imagine what it is in person.

  6. Dan Antion says:

That’s a beautiful view of LA

  7. Janet, an ethereal glance of a star-lit city, thanks. Happy Photo Challenge.

  8. Angeline M says:

Beautiful! LA all dressed up and sparkly.

  9. Amy says:

A beautiful shot of LA night scene, Janet! 🙂

Shows just how sprawling L.A. has become. Sure looks pretty with all those sparkling lights, though.

  11. Emilio Pasquale says:

We were there only during the day and the view was nowhere near as beautiful! Now I have to go back!

  12. As great as seeing it from a plane without the airport annoyance and stress.
Really beautiful – like a Christmas light display all year round. I really really want to go there.

    • There’s a lot to do and see, but it can get to be a bit much as well. It was nice having our daughter shuttle me around, as she knows where she’s going (and has a GPS.) This was a grand view, but I preferred Yosemite. 🙂

  13. What a lovely view! Griffiths Observatory is one of my favorite spots in LA.

  14. Great view indeed! I’ve always wanted to go up there. Maybe one day. 🙂

    • It’s a view worth seeing. The first time we went two years ago, there was some event going on and it took us about an hour to go a little over a mile, after which we had to go far down the road to park. That year we viewed the scene from farther down the road, but it was still beautiful.
