Welcome to Wednesday AKA Over-the-hump Day. I hope your week’s off to a great start. We’ve had lovely weather, but that’s due to change today, with rain and much cooler temperatures in the forecast. However, it was a lovely weekend and I got a walk in this morning, so I’m not complaining. 😉
This week’s Photo Challenge Theme is “Wanderlust.” I know it because I have it. 🙂 When the tea shop where I was working went entirely online, I decided that I wouldn’t start a new job until September and in the interim (February-August), I’d do as much traveling as possible. Unfortunately, my husband can’t come because of lack of vacation days, but fortunately he doesn’t mind me going. What a guy!
My most recent trip was to Southern California with a side helping of Yosemite. I’ve shared many of the Yosemite photos on my blog since then. The morning we left, the clouds created a most magical show, creating dazzling looks at scenery already stunning. Here’s one of the last shots I took on the way out. To see what it looked like without the fog, just click here.
Beautiful!
Madison, it was a magical day. Right after this shot, the clouds completely covered the park (at least in that area), so I was fortunate. It’s beautiful without clouds, too, but they made every view even more amazing.

Lovely!
It actually was breath-taking!
janet
Surely!
Marvellous!
Thanks, Sue. I don’t like to go overboard with superlatives, but the very short time we spent there would have used up any I could muster.
janet
😀😀
That photo can evoke a lot of feelings about religion and/or nature. It is a great shot, Janet. 🙂 I’m sorry to hear you lost your job due to going totally online. I’m guessing that it won’t be too far in the future when people don’t leave their home for work or shopping. Whole new world, I guess.
While I was sad to lose that particular job, it was the right time for the owners, so it’s fine. One of the reasons they went online only is precisely what you mention: people shopping exclusively online. Then they complain that all the stores are going out of business. Well, DUH!

Great images of Halfdome. Next time your up this way stop in. I’ll give you a tour of San Francisco. 😀
We can meet Allan, too. That would be fun. We didn’t have time to do SF and Yosemite this trip, unfortunately.
janet
Yes a WordPress Meet Up! One of these days I’ll get over to see Allan too he’s all of 30 lies away. SF and Yosemite is a big trip.
Count me in, ladies. Sounds like fun.

That’s beautiful!
Thanks, Deborah. I have to get the photos from my Nikon yet, too. These have all been from my iPhone.
janet
Amazing! I wish I was this good with my cell phone.
The light on the clouds is marvellous.
The whole thing was something special, Karen. I feel privileged to have been there to see it.
janet
Very lovely.
Glad you liked it, Hammad. Nice to see you around again. I hope all is well.
janet
All is well here. Been busy in work very much, so unable to check your posts on daily basis.
This is a great photo, Janet. Lots of movement.
Ω
Thanks, Allan. It was a great trip. Hard for me to believe we did so much in about a day and a half.
Those are the best times.

Great photo, I love Yosemite, I was there in 2008 and this photo makes me wanderlust.
I’d love to go back when I had more time and the weather was good enough to do more hiking. That said, we had a wonderful time and I was blessed to be able to get there.
janet
I love it when things peek out from behind the fog or clouds.
Me, too, Dan.
janet
Fantastic! You’re lucky to have that within travelling distance.
It’s within traveling distance of our where our older daughter lives, but quite a distance from where we are unfortunately.
janet
Beautiful!
Thanks very much.
janet
the photo with those clouds is marvelous. What luck to capture just that moment.
You certainly caught a jewel of a skyline. Yosemite is a treasure each and every turn.
It’s a beautiful, beautiful place, Janet.
As my comment that went awry said, it is beautiful and I hope to get back soon. 🙂 Early morning gremlins.
Nice, beautiful shot!
Thanks!

[…] This, that and the other thing Weekly Photo Challenge: Wanderlust…Yosemite with a helping of clou… […]
Enjoy your travels and keep taking the brilliant images. Good to meet you. x
You as well.
Nice one J. The early bird catches the worm, and all that. A beaut!
Thanks, MB. There were probably lots of worms about on that rainy day (unless they were still too chilled to move), but we didn’t get any. Drat! 🙂 I’m just glad to have caught the photo.
janet
Worth getting it printed I think. And give to ‘stay at home’ husband!
I imagine I’ll be printing a few from Yosemite. I’m in the process of getting ready to start a small business selling cards and maybe calendars and prints as well. Still in the research stages and organizing/choosing photos. We’ll see how it goes (and when.) My husband is a gem and always encourages me to travel, even when he can’t, as well as earning the money that allows me to do so.
Good luck with the venture J. I am also about to start something, but more of that anon! Again – great shot – but if printing, maybe it needs a small crop along the bottom – just a humble suggestion from humble MB!
Thanks for the suggestion, MB. I look forward to anon.
Beautiful post, Janet..
Thank you so much, Nurul.
Beautiful picture Janet!
Thanks, Nicole. It was such a beautiful morning. Glad I could capture a bit of it.
Magical is exactly the right word Janet. Nature works her magic every day and I so enjoy it when people notice and capture the moments to share.
And I’m glad when people enjoy what I’ve captured, Su. Thanks for being such a faithful visitor and comment-er. Always appreciated.
You captured the mystical beauty, Janet. Great entry for this weeks challenge.
Isadora 😎
We had such a short time, but the quality of the trip was in inverse proportion to the time. So glad you liked the shot. I hope you saw some of the other Yosemite posts, as the views were spectacular.
janet
Awesome view of the clouds!

There’s something magical about mountains to begin with, but toss in swirling clouds, and a stunning photo like this one is the result!
The clouds make all the difference, Joanne.
janet
This place is magical! That cloud behind the tree… Wow!
It was definitely a wow morning. 🙂
janet
You bet.
Beautiful shot!
Amazing!!
It’s an amazing place, Emily. 🙂
